Summary: Deep as the Ocean
Review: This book is one of the best books on how a person responds to their life circumstances. Rosie is an obvious survivor. It appears that Rosie suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This disorder is characterized by a continual revisiting of the feelings caused by the traumatic event or events. (Sometimes it could be the length of the stress and not just one traumatic event) PTSD sufferers relive their feelings by seeking out people (even movies, books and songs) that bring back those feelings. "Others who are just like we"

As the feelings continue, they become out of proportion to the trauma and I could see how Rosie's feelings allowed her relate to traumas that this girl with MPD was experiencing and had experienced. This book has nothing to do with MPD-but it does give depth to Rosie's deep feelings. But Rosie has enough of a head on her shoulders to know that this girl is not her - as should we.

Traumas happen to all kinds of people (but I bet more of them are in Hollywood) The traumas that made Rosie become Rosie- they are in the book- just connect the dots.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I found this book to be wonderful. It let me see past the glamour of this tv star and see the real her. I love this woman because she is honest, does what feels right, and she's not a hypocrite. She actually helps people. It takes a lot of courage to go out and help people that need help. The book is a short read and yes, the grammar is not the best but you can understand it and it feels like Rosie is having a conversation with you. I would recommend it to any adult who loves Rosie.

Summary: Disturbing & boring at the same time!
Review: This was a quick read - mainly because it was so bizarre that I ended up skipping some passages, especially the e-mail excerpts.

Rosie must obviously be an intelligent woman and it was sad to see she is so starved for love and attention and an overwhelming desire to help someone that she fell for the women's story.

She must be surrounded by capable people, and I feel one of them should have taken the initiative to investigate the woman's story. It would have saved a lot of time and emotional pain.

Summary: Psychologically Disturbing...
Review: I almost ordered this novel from Amazon, but decided to check it out of the library first. Am I ever glad I waited! Although I had heard that it was written very differently from what was expected, I did not realize it was in fact NOT written. Being an English teacher, I found myself concentrating on the fragmented, incoherently written "chapters", if you want to call them that. I was disturbed by the writing style, albeit much better than the content of this book. It is the story of the fascination, obsession, and strange tendencies of a woman who I had a tremendous amount of respect for prior to reading this. Everyone has SOMETHING in their lives that impacts them tremendously, but not everyone has to tell about it to the entire world in hopes of feeling better. Rather than making me respect and admire her, Rosie makes me wonder if maybe it is HER who has the psychological "issues". I don't mean to be cruel, but this had to be one of the most repulsive and disappointing reads I've ever encountered.

Summary: Wasn't sure of the point...
Review: This was interesting book, but I have to agree with one of the reviewers ahead of me that I wasn't sure of the purpose of the book. I don't know exactly what I was expecting to read, but it wasn't what I found. Good none the less, but definetly a somewhat odd book. It showed Rosie in a very niave sort of light, and I'm not sure how to take it...Read this book, it's good...not great, but worth the time.

Summary: Just Read It...
Review: I don't usually read auto-biographies, but I found "Find Me" interesting and an easy read. It wasn't a book I decided to keep on my shelf, but I did enjoy reading it all the same.

Summary: I really liked this book...I think that you will too....
Review: This book was wonderful. I have never read a book in one sitting until now. Rosie's heartfelt story filled me with every emotion I have. I thought about death, life, love, parenting, and all around life happiness.

I think that Rosie took some issues in her life and dealt with them tactfully and candidly. I reallly appreciate that. Hopefully, you will enjoy this book as much as I did. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Summary: A troubled star and a disappointing read
Review: O'Donnell deserves respect for honesty and her well publicized charity, but this thin book is very disappointing. While she readily admits she "needs help", it becomes all too apparent that the gifted comedianne hasn't moved past her mother's unfortunate death and her father's emotional paralysis. As a result, she comes off as juvenile, stupid, and boring. Her long e-mail excerpts are also tedious and uninspired. Read it overnight if you must, but its not worth your time. Hopefully she's found TRUE counseling now that she's retired.

Summary: "Find me" left me looking at Rosie differently
Review: This book was not quite what I expected. Rosie shares her obsession in helping others, her insecurities, her fears, her codependency, and opened us up to a whole side of herself that we were unaware.

It takes great courage to write a book like this, as it really casts her as a troubled woman, with major issues. I have always liked Rosie (and still do) and it just makes the point that we never know someone truly by their behaviour on the outside. Here is Rosie, a huge celebrity, successful and funny, yet inside she has fears, and a huge hole with the death of her mother.

A very easy and quick read, and I am amazed that a celebrity would share this subject matter with her fans. But I am certainly glad she did. A bit dark, yet an honest emotional portrayal of an event that had a huge impact on her life.

Summary: A better insight into Rosie!
Review: Rosie O'Donnell has many sides to her. When this book first came out I couldn't wait to read it. I am a subscriber of her magazine and really admire her. This book showed a different side of her. I was a little shocked when I first started reading about the woman that was calling her at all hours AND the fact that she was accepting these calls, but after I realized that Rosie felt this woman's pain and just wanted to help her, it made me understand. Rosie is the type of person who wants to help eveyone and this book proves that. She never askes for anything in return. I really related to Rosie when she talked about how she feels about her body and her insecurities. I too have felt this way. I may not be a celebrity, but I too have had many occasions where people have wanted something from me and I gave and gave because it made ME feel good. I think Rosie proves in this book that she is just like a lot of us. She derives pleasure from giving, but sometimes gives too much. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Rosie and for those who don't, this book may change your mind about her. She speaks candidly and doesn't try to be someone she's not. You have to love that about her. She is the only celebrity who speaks the truth and doesn't do it because she has been drinking, doing drugs etc.,and now wants the public to like her again. She speaks the truth because that's just the kind of person she is. We could all learn alot from this book. I will read this book again, I loved it!
