Rating: Summary: JEWELS OF THE SUN Review: I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK. IT'S PERFECT READING FOR A COLD DAY. THE MAIN CHARACTER IS A WOMAN DISCOVERING WHO SHE REALLY IS. YOU LIVE WITH HER AS SHE GROWS IN HER OWN SELF ASSURANCE AND SELF WORTH. I COULD REALLY RELATE TO HER. THE ROMANCE WAS FUN AND BELIEVABLE.
Rating: Summary: A promising beginning Review: This novel was a good beginning to a new trilogy. I've been waiting for Roberts' return to Ireland for some time and am pleased with the Gallaghers.Jude impressed me as a very dynamic character. You could actually trace her growth throughout the chapters. By the end, she was as strong and capable as any other Roberts' heroine usually is at the start of the story. Aidan was also great. Although not as dynamic as Jude, he did learn a lot, such as the importance of expressing his love. The fantasy elements to the story were intriguing. Gwen seemed like a sad sack and I hope that there is some growth there or I'm going to wonder what a lovely faerie like Carrick sees in her. Carrick was well thought out. We saw his vulnerability *and* we saw the majesty of his royal lineage. That was quite an accomplishment, Ms. Roberts! If I have any criticism of the story it is that I think Ms. Roberts has worn out the use of the paranormal in her books. The beauty of the first two books of her previous Irish trilogy is that they showcased Ireland and the Irish as they really are and did not rely on the crutch of fantasy to depict Ireland. I await her return to that style of writing.
Rating: Summary: Enchanting read Review: Nora Roberts weaves a chaptivating tale of Ireland's mystical legends. I was hooked from the first chapter to the last, as Jude Murray finds herself and her soul mate in this enchanting land. The characters are vivid, funny and endearing. I can't wait for the next book in this new trilogy.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, I'll read the rest... Review: She didn't disappoint and she didn't excite either. The characters are likable abd the story is magical. It has to be, it takes place in lovely Ireland. It does lack, however, the Nora Roberts flair that I have become used to. Instead of sweeping romance this is the story of a woman in midlife crisis who just happens to trip over a guy and decide to keep him. Roberts had all the right elements; beautiful backdrop, intriguing characters and a good dash of the supernatural but didn't make them click. The book is worth reading if you're a fan but if a first timer to Roberts books read something more lovable like Hidden Riches or Convincing Alex.
Rating: Summary: Slight disappointment Review: My major gripe with this book from my favorite author was the main character, Jude. She was such a contrast to the usually strong, admirable-even-though-flawed women in Roberts' books. I became annoyed with her insecurities and she wore them out for everyone to see like a badge. Bring back those women characters who can stand up to any man! I've missed them in her last few books.
Rating: Summary: First in a wonderful Irish trilogy Review: Determined to change her life Jude Murray takes her grandmother's advice and takes a 6 month vacation to stay in a family cottage in Ireland. At first Jude is shy, afraid to meet people and has a low self-esteem. After a bad marriage and divorce who could blame her? Jude is determined to make a go of it. Then she meets Aidan Gallager at the local pub. When Aidan first meets Jude he's at first intrigued, then determined to make her his. Will the romance of Ireland win Jude over? Nora Roberts has began another good trilogy with another set of siblings. This time set in beautiful Ireland, shrouded in mystery and faeries and ghosts. As always Ms. Roberts draws the reader in for a vivid view of the setting, I could actually imagine the green hills, the mist, the pub and the Irish accents. If you're a lover of Ireland and romance combined, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Roberts Irish Airlines Review: What a good book is suposed to do is transport you effortlessly away from your life and into the characters lives which Jewels does wonderfully ! I could see the countryside and feel the breezes of the soft winds of Ireland. The story evolved as nicely as all of Roberts books do and gave very good incite into the lovestory that evolved. With it being mixed in with the Irish folklore it was truly one of her best. The only sad part is the wait for #'s 2 & 3 yet to come !
Rating: Summary: Her best since Born in Fire series Review: Just finished the novel and enjoyed very much. The setting was the selling ace for me. As a contemporary romance, I truly enjoyed due to the story line and the description of the countryside and life in a rural village of Ireland. I could have done without the fairie involvement, but thankfully this was not a major aspect of the story. The ending leaves you hanging as to whether the curse of the fairie prince and his Lady was broken when Aidan and Jade became committed to one another. The introduction to Shawn's story (Book 2) indicates they are still cursed.
Rating: Summary: Jewels of the Sun Review: True to Nora Roberts couldn't put it down until finished, anxiously awaiting no 2 in trilogy...
