Summary: Best of the four Chronicle Books
Review: This book was good, because it had a wide diversity of characters in it, while still incorporating my original favorites from the first series. Also it was very long, and I didn't want it to ever end.

Summary: Summer Flame - Good or Bad?
Review: I just finished reading Dragons of Summer Flame and after hearing some other comments on this book I am a little torn. First off, this book is very hard to review because it contains some great qualities of the Dragonlance series but also can be seen as a very controversial book. I have to admit that the characters of Palin and Steel are very likeable, but the character of Usha is probably the worst female character in the entire book series. She is just totally dull and uninteresting. The action is good but appears rushed at the end. The problem with this book is that it should have been a trilogy. The whole book moves rather smoothly like a regular novel and then wraps itself up at the end. What I mean by this is that in the book the evil god Chaos (what the book should have been about) appears in the beginning and then disappears. The story continues on with the adventures of Palin and Steel and the return of Raistlin. (what of the book's strong points) And then with only a few chapters left, Chaos and his forces attack Krynn. We are then simply told that everyone on Krynn is fighting, but all we read about is the final battle. (Some war, it lasted maybe three chapters) But the final battle is very exciting I have to admit. Anyway, this book did have a good storyline. I won't give away the ending but let me just say that it is depressing, especially to the Dragonlance fan who has been there from the beginning. I know some people may not like this sad turn in the storyline, but it has to be read if you want to continue reading the series in the future. Good book, pick it up, but just remember that there is always the next Dragonlance novel to read. P.S. Check out the Chaos War series, all three are excellent!

Review: If you love DragonLance and everything in it, you will love everything but the last 5 pages, sad ending, read the other reviews for the ending, but it is an awesome book, and if you aren't a die hard DL fan, but like them, go to the library and check this out, it is excellent!

Summary: Should not have been written
Review: I just finished reading this book a few hours ago and have to say it left a void in my heart. I am a longtime Dragonlance fan and thoroughly enjoyed the Chronicles and Heroes series. But Summer Flame is really disappointing. I am not sure exactly what the authors were trying to do with this book. I left the world of Krynn knowing Raistlin was sleeping safely in the arms of Caramon, sacrificing himself to save the world...and ultimately himself. Each of the heroes have done their part and now deserve some rest and joy. They did not go forth in their adventures to save the world. Rather, I believe they embarked on their adventures to discover themselves and where they belong in the world of Krynn.

With Summer Flame, the world of Krynn has lost the magic. Yes, everyone is still there...but it feels as though there is a big void. It feels as though the world of Krynn has been resurrected from its deep rest and forced to live for a bit longer so the authors can slip another story in. The rich dialog is gone...the little details of each character...gone...the intelligence of characters...gone. It is but an empty world. Raistlin has come back...but with no magic or passion.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Must read book. Excellent ending to the chronicles.
Review: I loved the way Raistlin fit into the story. Palin is a character I love to relate to. I don't see how Steel is related to Kitiara and Sturm but that is a good mystery to find out later. For those of you thinking about buying it do so, you won't be disappointed!
