Rating: Summary: Slightly disappointing. Review: I have read all of Amanda Quick's book and find this one doesn't quite meet the standards of the others. Not as much tension between Emma and Edison as main characters in other books. Also, Basil Ware was predictable. I was interested in finding out what happened to Miss Kent, but it was never mentioned in the book. Also, once Emma moved in with Victoria, the character of Letty was basically dropped with no explanation. The ending to me was a let down, not much suspense. I enjoyed the earlier books much better and still re-read them.
Rating: Summary: Another excellent book by Amanda Quick!!!! Review: I've read every book by Ms. Quick and they just keep getting better. The story or Edison and Emma was great. Their first romantic encounter may not have been all that great but like fine wine it got better with time and practice. Amanda Quick is one of my favorite authors and I look forward to her next book.
Rating: Summary: Not her best work. Review: This is not one of Ms. Quick's best work. The depth usually given to her characters is missing as is the interaction between hero and heroine. I was very disappointed with this effort and only hope her next book will be better.
Rating: Summary: She's done it again! Review: Ms. Quick has written yet another wonderful story. I loved the way Edison and Emma connected in their own funny way. Way to go Ms. Quick and I look forward to your next novel.
Rating: Summary: FANTASTIC!!!! Review: I loved this book. Ms. Quick is a truly gifted writer. The characters feel exceptionally real. Emma is a delightful mix of innocence and candor. Edison is wonderfully portrayed as a true gentleman should be (I think). It had me guessing at the end--something that almost never happens to me. Try it. You'll love it.
Rating: Summary: Two Thumbs up for Another Fantastic Book Review: Ms Quick has a wonderful way of making you feel like you actually know the characters by the end of her books. Emma due to unfortunate circumstances must work as a ladies companion who unfortunately has trouble keeping a job due to her outspoken ways. Edison Stokes comes into Emma's life and it will never be the same. Emma and Edison are complete opposites who together have an absolutely amazing, irritating, loving and laughing relationship. Excellent book. I have every book Ms. Quick has written. I cannot wait until the next.
Rating: Summary: Not Quick enough for me. Review: I have just finished reading "I Thee Wed" by Amanda Quick. I am a big Quick/Krentz fan, but I found myself a little disappointed with this one. The story started off well, but soon ran out of steam. The plot was inconsistent, with characters thrown in that were either unexplained or truly irrelevant(ie. Miss Kent). I felt as if I missed a chapter or two. And while I enjoyed Edison Stokes, Emma's personality left me cold. Ms. Quicks' recent female characters are too closely related to her contemporary ones. Bring back Harriet, Olivia, Prudence. Her earlier female characters showed more vulnerability and interest. And they brought out the best in their counterparts. In this story, Edison seems to need no improvement, while Emma is sadly lacking. Her villian was apparent right from the very beginning. Mostly because we were left without an adequate alternative. I really felt at the end that instead of everything coming together, I was left with a lot of holes. Even the way she handled the betrayal was somewhat disappointing. You knew it was coming, but the reason was sorely lacking. I did expect more from this novel than I got. Now I am left waiting to see if her newest contemporary hits or misses the mark.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: Amanda Quick writes a great romantic mystery again! I could not put the book down once I started. The hero and heroine are delightful! I laughed out loud quite a few times. The book was everything I expected from Amanda Quick and more! I recommend this book highly!
Rating: Summary: She did it again! Review: I had to stay up late to finish this book in one sitting! The story line was fun and not too complex. The passion between Emma and Edison was explosive, and unpredictable. Having read Romance for a long time, I was still taken by surprise when these two came together! I think the story stretched the imaginable a bit. The "Strategies of..." were a bit far-fetched, as was the ease with which Edison managed to go outside the circle, but all in all it was a FUN book to read, with great characters and a plot that moved along nicely.
Rating: Summary: So Funny! Review: I just loved this book. I laughed my way through it. Emma and Edison are wonderful together, and Emma is just the perfect heroine. Smart, funny and tough when she has to be. You go, girl!
