Summary: Quick read with some helpful advice
Review: Larry King gives some helpful advice for starting conversations in this book. If you don't have a hard time talking to people you won't learn anything from this book. I enjoy talking to people so the advice in the book was nothing I didn't already know.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Back to the basics
Review: Larry King knows how to talk, but that doesn't mean he knows how to teach. This is predictable stuff that only will help those who are in need of basic advice. Save your money and your time.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent Advice from the Master
Review: Larry shares what Larry knows. I feel some of the reviewers here have missed the point - and the fact that Larry is, after all, an old-school throwback. None-the-less, Larry is a master at getting people to talk. While most people follow the mundane conversation track of "How's the weather?" or "What do you do for a living?", Larry recognizes most of us are bored with answering such questions about our life. Does Patrick Ewing really want to talk basketball 24/7? Probably not. Ask the guy something about his life; something the average person wouldn't ask. I think Larry offers some great advice and I gained a lot from this offering.

Summary: Larry King writing about what he does best - talking....
Review: My sons bought this audiotape for me for my 33 birthday as they know I am struggling with my inadequacies of speaking in public situations. Larry King's tape was interesting, informative and provided some basic concepts and ideas on the art of conversation. Like everything else, it takes practise and the more one works on this skill, the better the results. Not many people are born to be good conversationalists and most of us suffer from similar fears and insecurities. I loved Larry's story about his first day on the radio. In this book (tape), Larry provides practical and fun ways of improving this art.

Summary: his success is speaking
Review: Sure Larry talks about his rise to fame. It is based on his ability to speak. He conveys the basics of being able to speak but you must listen to what he is saying to understand the fundamentals. I enjoyed the audio cassette.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: This is mostly a name-dropping kind of book.
Review: This book is enternaining in places, but not particularly helpful in my opinion. Larry King is a master of the bold, rapid-fire question type of interview. In this book, though, he talks about celebrities like himself, with whom he is on first name terms. That's fine for him, but there's not much here that I can use.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Talking from experience
Review: This book is not the ideal book to learn how to talk to people, but nervertheless it is a good book to read. Larry King in this book talks of his personal experience, how did he reach his current success, from a boy running around the studio working on any work got to current Larry King - one of the successful people of show business.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: a just so and so from a superb speaker ;)
Review: This is a book about how to do interview and things like that. Larry King is world reknown and i m quite dissapointed to see his books. His real strength is the ability to ask question that is sharp and timely, plus his wide knowledge of any subjects. But the book did not show much nor will it trains you in anyway toward those things. Tanadi Santoso. 12/97.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not so good.
Review: When buying this book, I thought I will master the skills of communication, after all who would be better than Larry King to teach me how to talk?

Unfortunately, I did not gain much of this book. Well I can't blame Larry for not letting out his secrets of communication, he is definitely aware that competitors will read it too!

I recommend How to Win Friends and Influence people instead.
