Summary: Okay...
Review: I have read many of Iris Johansen's books. So far, this is the one I liked the least. The main character, Eve Duncan, is the most annoying "heroine" I have ever come across. She is so obsessed with the daughter she lost that she can't get on with her life. Yes, bad things happen, but eventually you get over it. Well, Eve doesn't. I was so disappointed with this book that I will definitely not read the rest of the series because I honestly don't care what happens. On the upside, the other characters and the plot were good. If Eve had been different, this book could have been great, but as is... it just isn't worth it. Iris Johansen is usually a great author and I would highly recommend her book The Ugly Duckling instead of this one.

Summary: Enjoyable set
Review: I enjoyed this book and having read the others that make up the rest of the set i enjoyed it all the more the second time along with the rest of the books.
This was a little different as Eve has two men in the picture and she does not initially end up with who you may want her to end up with, it was a little more like real life things don't always go as smoothly as we may hope, good story line and enough adventure with the romance to make it a good read.

Summary: I'm hooked
Review: This is the second book I've read by this author and I have to say that she has got a fan.I find her books to be well plotted and fast moving with some good twists. Look foward to more.

Summary: GREAT plot! Ends with a bang!!!
Review: After reading "The Search", I was hooked to this author's novels, especially the recurring characters of John Logan, Eve Duncan, Joe Quinn, and Sarah Parker(even though she's not present in this one, but this is the first of the Eve Duncan series and Sarah will appear in the second and third novels). This novel introduces us to the history of Eve Duncan and Joe Quinn. Eve's daughter Bonnie was kidnapped and killed 8 years ago, but her body was never found. The person who handled her case was an FBI named Joe Quinn. Since that dark period of Eve's life, she got her education and became a forensic sculptor, with the ability to perform facial reconstruction from skulls. Throughout the years, Joe and Eve became the best of friends. Eve is a workaholic and is obsessed with helping other victims' families identify and bring home their loved ones, especially children. Because of her particular profession, she was approached by John Logan, a computer billionaire, with a job proposal--facial reconstruction of a skull that may belong to one of our US presidents! With this, Logan and Duncan may have stumbled into one of the biggest political conspiracy and coverup in US history. The novel is full of suspense and action that kept me guessing until the end. The love confict between Logan, Eve, and Quinn was not resolved even though I knew what will happen since I've read "The Search", but I'm still anxious to read the next novel "The Killing Game" to see how everything plays out. Above all, Bonnie was not found yet, which I think will have to lead into the next novel. Great read! Excellent and absolutely brilliant storytelling.

Summary: Fast and involved reading
Review: Just try it I promise you'll finish in only a few nights. I never read a book of this nature before and in a matter of 2 weeks have already finished the series!

Summary: Boring!
Review: I was really anxious to get this book home and start reading. The story outline on the back cover made the book seem very interesting. But I could never get into it. And night after night I tried. The main character lacked a solid personality it was hard to get to know her in fact all the character's where kind of incomplete. This story was missing alot. And I was really looking forward to Iris Johansen because she has so many books on the market.I'm just not sure I will give anymore a try, at least not at full price!

Summary: Just read it!
Review: Iris Johansen is the master (mistress?) of suspense. And this book does not disappoint. You think you know where the plot is going, and then suddenly, she throws you for a loop that leads to a wild ride . . .and an unbelievable ending. So she may take a few liberties with plausability, but that's part of the fun. This is the first book in a trilogy that is worth reading in its entirety. If you like her other books, you'll like this one as well.

Summary: The Face of Deception
Review: This was an excellent book. I had a hard time putting it down. Iris Johansen makes all her characters come to life. Each book of hers that I read, I find myself racing through it just so I can hurry up and buy the next one.

Summary: great book
Review: i couldn't put this book down. people say the plot was confusing but if you stop and reread a few pages everything will come together. believe me, i tried and it worked for me. i think it was a wonderful book and im halfway through Iris's sequel The Killing Game. I write murder mysteries myself which i hope to get published someday (i'm 11). These books inspire me a great deal.

Summary: Okay....
Review: This was good book for the most part, but not something that really caught my attention. About half way through, the suspense was gone and you were told what happened and why. The main character, Eve Duncan, was not someone that I even cared what happened to. She was so pessimistic about everything and everyone. This is an okay book but there are better ones out there.
