Summary: I couldn't put it down
Review: Mark Fuhrman makes the Greenwich Conn. police look like a bunch of monkey's. This poor child was murdered, they can't solve it, he can help... What's the problem? I thought this book great I couldn't put it down. I hope that they bring the killer of this poor child to justice, she deserves a chance to rest in piece. Hopefully he has helped.

Summary: Exorcizing Daemons
Review: Furhman gets to exorcize some daemons here while playing judge and jury. He convicts Michael Skakel of the 1975 murder of Martha Moxley, and that's good since there's little doubt the sick little rich boy did it. Furhman also takes the Greenwich police to task for bungling the investigation and for being afraid to go after anyone in the rich and politically powerful Skakel family. He calls them "servants of the rich," but of course that's what cops are. He says he is the last person in the world to believe the police would purposely compromise the crime scene, while intimating they did. All and all, Furhman looks good here amid the pedestrian prose, and the Greenwich cops look dumber than, say, LA cops.

That Furhman was able to solve this murder so easily is to illustrate the difference between knowing who did it, and getting a jury to agree. The Greenwich cops, after much indirection and various stupidities, no doubt also figured out that Michael Skakel had to be the murderer. By the time they did, however, they had so completely compromised the investigation that there was no chance they could get a conviction. So they never arrested the guy. Meanwhile, the Skakel family also figured out that their violent, manic-depressive boy did it, and they secreted him off to various shrink tanks to keep him out of trouble and away from the media.

The Moxleys seemed incredibly mild-mannered in a bending over backwards to be fair style as they followed the fruitless investigation to nowhere. The father took refuse from the tragedy in his work until he worked himself to death while the mother stayed in the background. Furhman dedicated the book to Martha Moxley and championed the cause of the Moxley family while doing a fine job of trashing the Skakels. He also got in some nice shots at the Kennedys. Reading between the lines of Furhman's portrait, however, one can see that Martha should have known better than to truck with the likes of the Skakel boys. She played sex games with both of them while having another boyfriend. She drank with them and smoked. She was openly and even provocatively flirtatious. She knew she was playing with fire since she didn't tell her mother she was seeing them, and she had been warned against seeing them. Her mother only found out about her activities after her death.

I like this kind of journalism since it embarrasses the guilty, the compromised, and the incompetent. Furhman can feel better about himself after being the main reason O.J. Simpson walked. He has with this performance, to use one of his favorite words, redacted his life story to some positive degree.

Summary: I'm gald its been broght to trail
Review: The only thing I diden't like about this book is the fact it perpetuates the myth that Greenwich is a town full pshyco pathes bent on making sure a makeing a brutal murder remains unsolved. I can assure you everyone here was quite happy with the news of an arrest. The only reason people in Greenwich seem secretive is because they pay an extravagent ammont for privacy and its rather annyoing when its invaded. The situation with Mr. Fuhrman was damned if you do damned if you don't. If we welcomed his investigation then people would say we were raciest for sideing with someone who has such narrow minded view points. If we diden't help him everyone would assume we were secretive. I can assure everyone we're just normal people who felt just the same about this case as everyone else.

Summary: mark fuhrman performed a valuable public service
Review: When the recent news about the pending arraignment of Michael Skakel appeared, I became interested enough to rent fuhrman's book from the local library. I read it and then bought my own copy. I plan to use it as a reference to keep track of developments & characters in the case.

Summary: thanks to mark furhman, the ball is rolling
Review: I have read muder in brentwood and just finished muder in greenwich.Mark Fuhrman has a excellent way of explaning the complex investigation that goes into a murder case. both books where easy to follow all the way thru. when Mark came to town it became clear alot of people had things to hide. also things started to happen just before his book was published, and after came the big one a arrest

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Wheels of Justice Turn Slowly- Very Slowly
Review: Fuhrman outlines the case in a clear, concise and methodical manner. It is riveting from the start. While Tim Dumas has a better writing style in Greentown, Fuhrman's book is focused on the investigative aspects. Fuhrman also explains in clear layman's words legal terms. Felt he was able to bring forth a logical conclusion even though attempts to subvert him were evident. As far as facts goes, it is clear the case was bungled from the onset.

Summary: Couldn't Put It Down - The book says it all.
Review: With the recent arrest of Michael Skakel I came to Amazon to see if there was a book re the Martha Moxley murder to get more information. I found 'Murder in Greenwich' and immediately ordered it. What a book! Mark Fuhrman knows his stuff, isn't afraid to tell the truth and this book proves it. I find it interesting that the very first review of this book on 4-22-98 is from a Greenwich resident and she only gives the book 1 star and blasts Fuhrman for writing it. This just reinforces the theory of the rich and powerful of Greenwich protecting their own. To the Moxley family - my heart goes out to you. May there some day be justice. Had Martha lived she would be my age and someone who I would have liked to have had for a friend.

Summary: Go Mark!
Review: I read Marks "Murder in Brentwood" and really enjoyed that book. I found this one and had to read it. I read a lot of Ann Rule books and from now on I will read all of Mark Fuhrman's books as well. I believe that this book had more than a lot to do with the recent arrest of Michael Skakel. I think without this book and Mark's investigation, this case would still be unsolved. As for WHO Mark Fuhrman is...He is a previous LA Detective who got railroaded. O J Simpson was not on trial, Mark was. His only crime was he was too good a Detective. I would be honored to be his friend. I would like to see a book by Mark on the investigation into the murder of JonBenet Ramsey so we can finally put an end to it. Keep up the good work Mark.

Summary: Murder in Greenwich
Review: I have not yet read this book by Mark Fuhrman (although I have read his other books) and it should deserve at least 5 stars. I am amazed at all the media attention this case is getting and hardly any credit is being given to Det. Fuhrman! I recently watched an interview of Det. Fuhrman with Paula Zahn on Fox News and I was disgusted at Ms Zahn's coments to Det. Fuhrman asking him if he feels that this book should give him vindication for past coming to light during th O.J. trial. Please, give this guy at least some credit. I truly believe that Mark Fuhrman is, whether he made racist coments in the past or not, he truly is a great cop and a great writer. Great job Mark. I would got 10-8 in the field with you anyday!
