Summary: Unbelievable - A work of art!
Review: I loved this book!!! I have read this book twice and intend to read it again. Sheri Reynolds is an excellent writer and I can't wait for her next book. Each one is more captivating than the one before. She will be an important voice in fiction for a long long time!

Summary: what a pleasant surprise!
Review: I had no Idea what to expect when I opened this book. I read the first page to see if I could read it through. I found that I couldn't put it down. It was fresh, and clean, and totally endearing. Finch is such a charming herione.I was so comforted by her abiltiy to communicate with the dead in such an uplifting and open way. she was true to herself and to us readers. Three cheers for Sheri Reynolds and this wonderful book.

Summary: I read it once and immediately read it again.
Review: I first read this book when I check it out of the local library. I loved it. I immediately felt as if I were in the cemetary with her. Sherri has the unique ability to make the supernatural seem natural. I will never go by a grave yard again without thinking about this book. It has even made me think again about my own desire to be cremated when I die. A fabulous book. I read it twice and I'm going to buy my own copy.

Summary: A thoroughly enjoyable book!
Review: I absolutely loved this book. I stumbled upon it at the library and checked it out. I was captivated from the first paragraph. How wonderful a story that combines the bittersweet of life and death and the eventual balancing of the scales. I hated to see it end!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: soulful, sweet slice of the mystery of life and death
Review: Maybe it's because I read this book late at night, but it gave me a beautiful case of the shivers, mysterious dreams and a deep appreciation for the stories we all have inside us. Sherri Reynolds deserves the recognition she has gotten.

Summary: not good enough
Review: this book is okay. not as good as RAPTURE OF CANAAN. however it still had some interesting points and themes. wrtten very well but reynolds could have made the story more interesting.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: 205 pages of absolute beauty.
Review: I usually make it a practice to never purchase "short" books. Perhaps I'm cheap or more likely, I don't think a book can be developed properly in less than 300 pages. Sheri Reynolds' "A Gracious Plenty" has definitely proven me wrong. Although only 205 pages, every page was worth savouring. The imagery used throughout the book was unlike anything I had ever read before. Just picturing Lucy "greening Finch's ivy" was worth the cost of the book alone.

Summary: Absolutely, positively, wonderful!
Review: I loved this book, plain and simple! I first discovered Sherrie Reynolds through "Rapture of Canaan", then I found "Bitteroot Landing", and ever since I have been salivating for another book by her. I love how she is proving that she is much more than just a "flash in the pan" type of author, she's not the kind that writes one good thing and lots of mediocre stuff. Her books just keep getting better and better and I can't wait for the next one. I loved Finch, she was so funny and strong, a little nutty, but aren't we all? I was a little disappointed though that there wasn't a romance between her and Leonard. The author seemed to hint about that a lot, but nothing ever happened. Wonder why? I think it would have been cool to see him admit his obvious attraction for her, which went beyond the physical. Also, I was never real clear on how old Finch was supposed to be, and that can a little irritating when you're trying to picture a character in your mind. Still, these are minor annoyances. Overall, the book is excellent and a definate, must read.

Summary: Wonderful imaginative book
Review: I first read Sheri Reynolds when Oprah picked her book The Rapture of Canaan. I LOVED that book. I thought I'd try this one. I was a little doubtful at first, but by the time I was through, I LOVED this one also. Her books left me with an overall feeling that is very homey and cozy. I guess you could call the moods in her books dark but yet they are so imaginative they make you think. I have only given a few books I have read 10's in my lifetime, and this is one of them. Now I look forward to reading Bitterroot Landing.

Summary: We Belong To The Earth
Review: Yes, there is an interesting plot here; but the HUGE piece is this: the book gives us an infinitely fascinating picture of how we and our deaths may play out - not as an event, but a part of a larger drama. If we have to tell our stories after we die, can we not live lives here and now that are more full of mystery, soul, and enchantment? This picture expands, deepens, and widens our everyday life because it offers one more way out of a 'modern life' filled with 'stuff'.
