Rating: Summary: Invisible life: A Novel by E. Lynn Harris Review: Mr. Harris, Mr. Harris! This book was a little shocking in the beginning. I really didn't know what the book was about before I started reading it. At times I had to put the book down, it was to hot for me, but I walked away with a whole new understanding of the Black Gay Man's mind and feeling. I can't wait to read Just as I am.
Rating: Summary: Invisible Life: A Novel by E. Lynn Harris Review: ... could not but this book down. Raymond is the most caring, sensitive and smartest character I've ever read. I would love to be his friend. The only problem right now is waiting for the next book.
Rating: Summary: Invisible Life, I have the Screenplay Review: I Recently read this novel for the second time. This time I read it for a diffrent reason. It is a good book and will make a wonderful independent movie. I will be finished writing the screenplay adaptation Xmas week of 2001. The author does not know that I have written the screenplay. I am going to try with great vigor to see if I can get the part of Kyle in the movie, if the movie gets made. This part was meant for me to do.
Rating: Summary: Raymond is Wonderful Review: I just recently read this book, and in a matter of 3 days. Raymond is an all around sweet guy and I love that his homosexuality does not take over his life. As he always states in this book and "Just as I am", being gay was only a small part of who he is. I've finally read all the books in the series(all out of order, but I have not missed a beat, E. Lynn is that good), and I miss Raymond. I'm ready for him to come back into my life. Hurry up with the NEXT ONE, Mr. Harris.
Rating: Summary: A glimpse of an invisible world Review: Thanks to Harris for enlightening the world about a life that I knew nothing about - and delivering the message with a work of superb writing. The characters were strong, the dialogue was audible, and the plot was utterly engrossing. In addition, my eyes were opened to be more accepting of people who are different from me - or as Harris so eloquently displayed - not much different from me at all. I applaud Harris's first novel with my full support, and belief that the best is yet to come from this talented author.
Rating: Summary: Invisible Life Review: Invisible Life is a book that I would recommend to anyone. E. Lynn Harris tells the story of Ray Tyler's life in a captivating and explicit manner that caught my attention. Raymond Tyler Jr. has a perfect life, he has a girlfriend, Sela, his highschool sweetheart, he is a brother in a fraternity, and he has an extremely loving family. Ray's life was turned upside down one night at a frat party when he saw Kelvin. Ray learned much about his sexuality through Kelvin and he learned about the true meaning of an invisible life. This book tells a story of an average african-american man who discovers and learns to accept himself. He finds that not everyone is willing to accept who he is, including his father. The only person who does accept and understand him is Kyle, his best friend. Ray finds that even the people he has put the most trust into are leading invisible lives as well.
Rating: Summary: Vicious Review: Love isn't always nice and it definately not easy. Read and you will find out how things really are.

Rating: Summary: A Must Read for Women Review: Invisible Life was a true page-turner. I couldn't put the book down. I read this book in 2 days. The story although it was fiction opened my eyes to the possibility that there are alot of bi-sexual men. As I read I kept saying to myself, I don't want to know these things, however I couln't stop reading. Curiosity kept me turning the pages. Invisible Life delves into a world that most of us merely wonder about. It tells the story of one man coming to terms with his sexuality. He has always been attracted to women, however one night while in college, he has a sexual encounter with a man. He seems surprised that he actually did and liked such an encounter. I would recommend this book as a good read.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: My goal for this summer was to get to know E. Lynn Harris' work. Well perhaps I should've started with a later work of his because "Invisible Life", his first novel (if I'm not mistaken) was a total disappointment. Besides the fact that there were grammatical errors in the book (mispunctuations and misspellings), the characters were also underdeveloped and boring to say the least. This book is supposed to be the first of a trilogy, but it did a poor job with making me anticipate the second one.
