Rating: Summary: FUN!!!!! Review: Chirstelow does a wonderful job of combining fun with counting so that children are drawn to the childish antics of the "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed". Getting ready for bed, the little monkeys go through their bedtime routine...put on their pajamas, brush their teeth and say goodnight to Mama. But!!! As soon as Mama is out of sight, the adventure begins! "Five little monkeys jumping on the bed/One fell off and bumped his head/Mama called the doctor/and the doctor said/No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" Now of course, the little monkeys do not heed the warning and continue the countdown as each time one monkey falls off and bumps his/her head, followed by Mama calling the doctor and the doctor repeatedly admonishing them - 'No more monkeys jumping on the bed!' until finally all are put to bed with bandages on their head in some form or another. Then Mama retreats and says 'Finally, I can go to bed' and jumps on the bed!!! Counting and the childlike actions of the little monkeys make this a fun book for all to enjoy.

Rating: Summary: memory supports reading Review: I first read this book to a group of sixteen two year olds. They had a wonderful time echo reading. They were learning and did not even know it. I think books that have expressive, repetitive lines are sensational. I recommend this book for any parent or teacher teaching reading.
Rating: Summary: We are wearing out this book Review: I have a 2 1/2 year old and an 8 month old. We read this book all the time! They never get tired of the monkeys (although I think I need a break from the story). It is a cute little book and a good lesson about jumping on the bed! A book every child should own!
Rating: Summary: Monkeys are the best! Review: I have been reading this book to my son since he was 3 months old. The first time we read it he actual laughed out aloud. He is now 10 months and still loves this book. We read it every night before bed and are even painting monkeys on his wall because they are his favorite. Those monkeys are very cute and babies love them.
Rating: Summary: you (and your children) will die laughing Review: I love this book. My daughter (3 ½) could not stop howling with laughter as we read this book about five times in a row. By the fifth or so reading, she'd memorized it (not that hard to do since we just count down the number of monkeys jumping on the bed: "five little monkeys, jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head, mama called the doctor and the doctor said, No more monkeys jumping on the bed!" How could you not laugh after reading this book? Plus, the illustrations with the little monkeys are adorable. The other ones in the series are not nearly as good as this one, so if you only buy one, make it the original five little monkeys.

Rating: Summary: BORING! Review: I was very disappointed in this book. I bought it (stupidly) without reading through it first for my son's first birthday. Although he doesn't (yet) mind the monotony of this book, I sure do. I was under the impression that it would have at least a little bit more of a plot than the childhood chant "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed". I was wrong, the book is the song in it's entirety, nothing more, nothing less.
Rating: Summary: Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed Review: In this book there a five little monkeys that have to go to bed. So the monkeys all get in the bath, put there pajamas on, and brush their teeth. The monkeys say goodnight to their mama and are supposed to be sleeping, when all of the little monkeys start to jump on the bed! One of the monkeys falls off and bumps his head. The mama called the doctor and the doctor said, "NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED!" This book teaches mainly only one lesson and that is that you shouldn't jump on your bed because you can get hurt by falling off. The age level for this book is 3-7. I have liked this book since I was little and I would definately recommend this book to little kids!
Rating: Summary: A big hit with a bed-jumping-monkey expert Review: It was probably inevitable that we would get this book, since our daughter has loved the monkeys-on-the-bed rhyme since birth (Her first sentence was "No more monkeys....", accompanied by finger shaking.). The illustrations are what set this book apart--disheveled monkey kids, an increasingly exasperated monkey doctor and finally, in the surprise ending, a gleefully jumping monkey mom. Really, the only complaint I have about the book is that it's hard to curtail my monkey from jumping if I read it at bedtime!
