Summary: WONDERFUL STORY!!!
Review: Another exciting and wonderful story from start to finish by Virginia Deberry and Donna Grant. The characters, plot and setting were all great. The story line kept your attention from start to finish. A book worth putting on film. A must read for all!!!

Summary: Excellent Story
Review: Far From the Tree is an emotionally charged story of family relationships and family secrets. Specifically, the authors explore the tumultuous relationships between mothers, daughters, and siblings.

DeBerry and Grant created unique, yet familiar characters that literally sucked me into this story. I enjoyed the consistent and sassy personalities of Della, Ronnie, and Celeste. The authors' description and word choice give the story music. The free flowing dialogue is quip and vivid. I can still recall snippets of conversations that made me laugh, cry, and gasp.

Far From the Tree is full of drama, unforgettable characters, and a speedy story line that will entertain you, yet encourage you to think about how you handle your own family perils. Enjoy!

Summary: Far from the First
Review: Maybe I had too many high expectations for "Far from the Tree" considering how I absolutely loved Deberry and Grant's first novel. My chief complaint with "Far from the Tree" stemmed from the slow plot development. I assume the reasoning for stringing the deep secrets along for such a long period of time was to build the suspense, but this writing technique had the opposite effect on me. I got weary of reading dull chapters to find out what happened next. All in all, this book was readable. Just don't expect a page turner like "Trying to Sleep in the Bed you Made" My advice to Deberry and Grant is to stick to what works. I will await your next book, but I will just think long and hard before investing my money into it.

Summary: Loving Story
Review: DeBerry and Grant have done it again. This is the story of Odella and her children, Celeste and Ronnie. Each woman has a different story on the surface but all still very similar. The more they tried to pretend that they were not like their mother they realized that they were same.

This was a very well told story with catchy chapter titles incorporated into the story. (I really like that) Peace and Blessings!!

Summary: Loved it!
Review: I love the way these two women write. The first novel I recommended that book to everyone I knew at the time, and I must say they done it again. I loved this one as well but the first one is still my favorite. All through out the book I felt kinda sorry for Odella, because of the hard life she lead as a child, and the way she treated her daugthers but in the end you can kind of see why. But to make a long story short I loved this book and hope other people will too. I look forward to their upcoming works.
