Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: Please save your money. I gave up at page 259
Rating: Summary: A major disappointment! Review: While this is not quite "as boring as watching grass grow", the reader form Arkansas is closer to the mark than others. This latest "techn-thriller" from Patrick has very little "techno" and the "thrills" are somewhat lacking also. I thoroughly enjoyed both "Nimitz Class" and "Kilo Class", but this one was a major disappointment. The long sections describing Ben Adnam's "journeys', including excrutiating detail about what he ate for Breakfast, Lunch, etc were quite boring. He is still a long way from being the next Tom Clancy. "The Hunt for Red October" remains the undefeated champion.
Rating: Summary: Patrick Robinson is as AMAZING a person as he is a writer Review: I saw Mr. Robinson at a San Diego Bookstore and I'm now in love with him and H.M.S. Unseen. He is friendly, humerous, charismatic, and one heck of an author. H.M.S. Unseen is an amazing militery thriller, action packed and exciting. Meeting the author in person was like a cherry on top of an already heaping bowl of ice-cream!
Rating: Summary: Ties the last two books together Review: Robinson did a nice job tying together his story lines from the last two books. I usually read books on business trips. I was not able to put this one down, even after I got home much to the distress of my family. My advice, read the last two books then read this one. enjoy!
Rating: Summary: A genuinely good sequel Review: Having read "Nimitz Class" and "Kilo Class" I was interested to see what Mr. Robinson would do for a follow up. He has written a good story, easy to follow with plenty of suspense. In my opinion he is not yet the equal of Tom Clancy nor even Michael Silva, but he is good. I think Silva is better than Clancy. I picked the book up this morning and read it throughout the day. It kept my interest. The ending was superb.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining...a good read!! Review: Although I would take issue with those who describe this author as '..another Tom Clancy', I did enjoy the book. It is fast paced and has a interesting premise. The plot moves right along, without getting bogged down in side issues. I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: If you enjoyed this book ... Review: If you enjoyed this book, read another one in HarperCollins group of naval novels: ONE OF THE GUYS by Robert Clark Young.
Rating: Summary: GRADE-A THRILLER! Review: I recommend H.M.S. Unseen to anyone who thinks Tom Clancy is good...You don't understand GOOD NAVAL THRILLER WRITING until you read PATRICK ROBINSON!
Rating: Summary: Patrick Robinson is unstoppable!!!! Review: This book heralds Robinson's arrival into the arena of the elite fiction writers of our generation - Clancy, Higgins, Grisham, Forsythe and dare I say Le Carre - watch your backs! Universal Studios will attract critical acclaim for their foresight in investing in the film rights. This is an investment that pre-release has already outperformed all major global equity indices. A worthy addition to the world's bestsellers' list is always welcomed. I look forward to his next work, it will be hyped into the next millenium. Why is this author set for greatness?... read the book, I need say no more...
Rating: Summary: I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!! Review: Sentence structure obviously comes easy to Patrick Robinson. In fact, so easy, some of his phrases left me smiling with awe - and not many writers can manage that. Pick any page, any paragraph, any sentence, and read it. It will be superb. That's why I loved this book so much. It just wreaks of brilliancy on so many levels - quite separate from the plot. A definite must for anyone who is literate. And by the way, reader from Arkansas, I'd like you to know your state has the highest illiteracy rate in the country.
