Rating: Summary: Bloody Brilliant.........shame about the cover illustration. Review: From the moment I picked up this book I couldn't put it down.......not surprisingly as I had read all the previous books and enjoyed then just as much! Seriously, The darl elf trilogy is the best series of books I have ever read and probably ever will read! It is just a shame that they are going out of print and I don't yet have the full collection!
Rating: Summary: Salvatore has made another masterpeice about Drizzt......... Review: Drizzt and his friends rock the house in this book its filled with some of the best writing ive ever seen...
Rating: Summary: Good book, but could have been great Review: Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was my first sojourn into the Forgotten Realms line. I thought the main characters were strong and well-defined. The story played out well. I wasn't entirely interested in the Drow politics. I found some scenes, while fun, to be very extraneous (the Goblin masher comes to mind). The Dwarvish race's pseudo-Scottish accents I adored! My main complaint was the ending, with the Drow matron and the Dwarvish ghost. We were treated to 20 pgs of characters that weren't anywhere in the rest of the novel (save a brief mention). It was an obvious setup for the sequel, and seemed to trivialize the entire plot I had just waded through. I think the novel would have stood much stronger if that entire section had been left out, and saved for the next book. Then, 'The Legacy' would have seemed more self-contained, and better for it.
Rating: Summary: The drow are after Drizzt again. Review: Good book, but the theme has already been played out. It seems that the Drow Priestess Vierna, Drizzt's sister, and Dinin are after Drizzt again in hopes to regain the Spider Queen's favor. They have already done this twice and have failed both times. Although this is a new twist the idea is getting old.
Rating: Summary: An excellent work by a great author. Review: I'm quite interested 'bout this trilogy, unfortunately I've only got the "Legacy" so I can't comment those following parts, but Salvatore is one of the best authors of this era,so I can only recommend for all.Drizzt is a character with both sides of the human soul an' sometimes it's almost give a lively, actual (present) atmosphere to the book.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Book Review: This book is great! This has got to be one of the most exciting books about the adventures of Drizzt and his friends. Some parts were kind of sad, which also made it a better book.
Rating: Summary: A action packed non stop thriller Review: In the Legacy, Drizzt has to face many enemies of the past and has to return to the dreaded world known as the underdark. With an exciting plot and many obstacles for Drizzt and friends to take, it's one of Salvatore's best. Even Regis has returned. I would definitely reccomend this book to any fantasy fan.
Rating: Summary: Glowing review of a great book. Review: The Legacy is one of the absolute best books I have ever
read. A fitting follow-up to the Dark Elf and Icewind Dale
trilogies.
Rating: Summary: A book when put away leaving you a strong feeling of courage Review: I found this book painful to put down and rest my eyes. The intrigue and excitment seem to leap from the pages while grabbing your eyes all at the same time
Rating: Summary: The story simply grab your imagination and make it live! Review:
This is not a novel for writers, for intellectuals or academics in literature. This is a novel to enjoy. To let it be in your dreams.
Drizzt, the main character, is in a struggle now to see if he made the right choice by leaving Menzoberranzan, his homeplace, and stays with his friends in the surface. By the action of the story and the events about his friends, he realize, at the end how powerful are the ties of his drow society and how an individual is always part of the whole scene.
The only flaw is that you have to be a d&d player, or at least, a role playing games player to understand some cues and relationships between characters and the environment.
Enjoy it!
