Summary: Boring story of Lorries bloated ego
Review: I'm an avid reader and I have to say this is the most poorly written book I have ever read. Specifically the writing style was disjointed, uneven and childish. If you manage to continue reading through lorries choppy, confusing writing you will find that Lorrie portrays Keith as a drunken, cheating porn-addicted hillbilly. She always paints herself as the perfect loving, caring wife. I find it interesting that this person who would have the reader believe that the failing marriage was totally Keiths fault is currently working on her 5th failed marriage.

This is one of those books that you wish you could give 0 stars to. I say this not because I'm a huge whitley fan, but because the writing is sloppy, forced and ridiculously insincere. I bought the book hoping to get some insights about the late country music star. Instead I got some sort of public relations attempt by Lorrie Morgan.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: Lorrie Morgan is one person that everyone could look up to and say, if she could survive, I can survive. She has an inner strength that most people don't. Her pouring out of her life is a testiment to her soul searching and being strong enough to do it. She lets her readers see her vulnerable side and has made me a fan for life for being honest. By the way, I am a Keith Whitley fan but you need to understand chemical imbalances to appreciate the hell he lived through. He couldn't help himself though he wanted to. Lorrie, you are an inspiration to everyone who reads such a fine book!!!

Summary: Lorrie Needs Dr. Laura's "Ten Stupid Things Women Do...."
Review: Lorrie Morgan loved Keith Whitley. So she lets us readers know that he loved frequenting porn shops while he was drunk. He drank cologne and hair spray to quench his desire for alcohol. He begged another women for sexual favors the night before he died. This is a love story? In between such revelations, Morgan portrays herself as a victim throughout her relationship with Keith Whitley, claiming that she "loved " him too much to ever leave him. (I wonder why she didn't think of her children living with and seeing a passed-out father time and time again--especially since she brags about how perfect her relationship with her daughter is).. Another weakness about this "love story" is that Lorrie carries on so positively about herself (let's not forget the invaluable info she gives on staying slender), to the point that her values are twisted around her own desires. One example is when she phoned the one-night-stand-bimbo whom Keith had his last affair with, she prides herself on calling the bimbo every dirty name in the book. Keith's entourage verbally applauds her for this deed. Yet, only a few years later, she has an affair with a married Kenny Rogers. I guess the fact that Kenny "loved" her made a difference. I suppose the real problem with this book is Lorrie herself. I don't think she really knows what a real "love" story is.

Summary: Lorrie Morgan is full of herself in this biography!
Review: The sub-title "My Love Story" is very apt in the title of this book. I have just finished this book this evening and just felt I had to review as the book is so full of conceit. I was enjoying the first one-half to two-thirds of the book; but, the last third of the book gets progressively more self-glorifying until you're ready to gag from her self-praising. Yuck!!! Basically, the story has a good premise and could be very helpful to others in similar situations; if Lorrie wasn't so "stuck-up"(?), I think that's the right word.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: INTERESTING, ALTHOUGH I DON'T BELIEVE EVERY WORD...
Review: There is alot about Lorrie Morgan that she does not reveal about herself in this book. If she did, in regards to what was said about Keith, it would be like the pot calling the kettle black, so to speak. I believe she "whitewashed" her own life to protect her children, which is very understandable, but as the old saying goes, when you point your finger at someone, there are 3 pointing back at you.

I found the book interesting, although as I said, I don't believe she was being totally honest about herself.
