Summary: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Review: In the latter part of the book, Mr. Hagee's descriptions of old testament jewish marriage customs and religious feasts as foreshadows of the church were enlightening and informative. However the majority of the book is devoted to the typical fundamentalist 'end times' rapture scenario with an emphasis for christians on the dangers of anti-semitism. Would that he felt as strongly about 'anti-catholicism.' The blatent anti-catholic bigotry of the book is reflected throughout. In a typical comment found on p.38 he refers to Hitler as "a spiritual leader in the Roman Catholic church." Nevertheless he states about 20 pages further on that Hitler was carrying out 'Luther's theology'. Go figure.

Summary: The Chosen People and Their Capital City
Review: In this book, Pastor John Hagee explores the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and proves conclusively, Christianity was born in the Synagogue, not in a Church or Mosque. He then reviews Jerusalem's pivotal role in international events, and ends with prophesies for the future supported by scripture. The result is a scathing indictment and warning against anti-Semitism.

Hagee begins with a review of well-documented crimes against Jews perpetrated, through the ages, by people claiming to be Christians. The perverted gospel they preached and practiced was, persecute a Jew and God will reward you for avenging the murder of his son. His next chapter is entitled, "Who Really Killed Christ." Readers will gain many scriptural and historical insights from these short passages.

Next, he narrates Jerusalem's crucial role in international events, past, present and future. He describes the elation of battle hardened, Israeli soldiers who became the first Jews to pray at the Wailing Wall in 2000 years after recapturing their ancient capital in 1948. He then mentions the four wars that have followed it. In each case, Israel triumphed over militarily superior Arab forces, proving God has never and will never abandon his chosen people.

Hagee closes with predictions for the future. He states plainly no "roadmap" or any other "peace settlement" that takes land away from ancient Israel will stand. God himself established the boundaries of Israel and personally bequeathed it to the Jews. No manmade treaty can change this.

The only thing missing is a plea for the Jews to finally recognize Jesus as the Messiah. Certainly, they are the chosen people of God and are directly responsible for the spread of Christianity worldwide. Had this been done, I would have given it five stars instead of four. Still, Hagee does a masterful job of explaining historical events in light of biblical prophecy. Well done!!

Summary: Hagee at his racist best
Review: It is interesting that Hagee should write about anti-Semitism, awful as it is. In this book, while he cites examples of it, one can't help but wonder why isn't called to the carpet for his own anti-Semitic views. To say nothing of the Arabs he continually berates (who are, after all, Semites, too), his overriding assertion is that only those who acccept Christ will enter into His kingdom. Certainly this is a form of anti-Semitism directed at Jews who, unless I'm missing something, aren't planning to convert en masse to not just any kind of Christianity, but to his own particular brand of it that, in a nutshell, dooms all who disagree with him and his ilk to eternal perfidy. Such attitudes are what led to European pogroms, finally culminating in the Nazi holocaust.

Hagee, of course, gets around this by trying to out-Israel Israelis themselves who, were they to come into contact with him, would likely shout him down, or worse. After all, they have been through enough to know the true colors of those like Hagee who, in the end, regard them as inferior to "true believers."

Summary: Superb study of the importance of Jerusalem to current event
Review: Pastor Hagee does a superb job of explaining the history of the city of Jerusalem, and the Jewish nation. He explains clearly the role of Isreal in what the world can expect in the future. He explains why Christians have misunderstood their required support of Isreal and what the consequences are for nations that do not support the "apple of God's eye." I was fascinated by this book and highly recommend it to anyone interested in current events, prophesy, Christianity and Judism.

Summary: the author needs to read some history books
Review: Pastor Hagee has done it again! This book doesn't include his opinions; his words are from the Word of God. The book clearly reveals that Israel is the absolute center time piece to Bible prophecy. It uncovers many of the myths about Jews that Christians have believed for so long. The book distinguishes between Israel and the Church. Neither replaces the other as many are falsely teaching. I may receive criticism for this but I'm not here to be applauded by people. This book clearly reveals that the Church does not go through the tribulation. I agree with the Pre-Trib position because the tribulation is a time when God deals with Israel again, not the church. God picks up with Israel again where He left off before the Church was born when Christ was cut off (crucified) but not for Himself. Once the church is raptured, God will deal with Israel again so the Jewish people will finally recognize their Messiah. This book is a must read if you're wanting to know the truth. Don't pass this one up!

Summary: If only this book had been published in 1920's Germany!
Review: This book should have been mandatory reading for every school child in pre-Nazi Germany. It should have been recommended and preached on by every person standing in a pulpit. Hitler's "Final Solution" might well have hit a brick wall with the German people.

Summary: John Hagee showed me the importance of praying for the Jews.
Review: This book was a marvelously written account of both the history of the Jewish nation, and the problems the Jewish people have and will face because they do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah. Hagee incorporates Bible prophesy, history, and personal experience into this book. He writes just like he preaches: doesn't sugar coat anything!
