Summary: Wow
Review: Again..."The best self-help book I ever read" but this time I truly mean it. This book has changed my life for good. Can't say more because I have no time. I am going out to confront my fears and enjoy my life to maximum without breaking someone's heart or breaking the law.

Summary: "The title says it all"
Review: Basically there are 2 types of fears:

1. Useful fear. For example: The fear of doing something dangerous
2. Useless fear: For example: Fear of public speaking.

This book shows us how to overcome useless fear. It shows us that it's ok to be fear. All of those dare devils are also afraid, yet the fear the fear and do it anyway!

Remember this "Nothing great has ever been accomplished without stretching"

Summary: Not a must have book...
Review: I bought this wonderful book many years ago, and have recommended it to countless people. Susan Jeffers does a truly remarkable job to help you recognize the doubts, insecurities, the "chatterbox" in your mind, and helps you to face your fears squarely so you CAN move beyond them.

Written with heartfelt and genuine compassion, this book is outstanding for anyone who feels fear in the constant change of life. Fear CAN be overcome. Jeffers provides wonderful exercises, analogies, and charts with great information such as: "Seven Ways to Reclaim Your Power" which are (quoted from the book) Avoid casting blame on an external force for your bad feelings about life... " Avoid blaming yourself for not being in control..." "Be aware of when you are playing the victim role..." "Familiarize yourself with your biggest enemy - your Chatterbox..." "Figure out payoffs that keep you stuck...(so you will be) able quickly to become `unstuck'" "Determine what you want in life and act on it..."

Jeffers provides wonderful tools to help you have a balanced life, in all areas in the chapter: "How Whole is Your `Whole Life'". Her "say Yes to Your Universe" topic is entirely helpful to keep you in the moment, where you are empowered to move forward with acceptance. You ARE in charge, no matter what circumstances are facing you, you do carry the ability to determine how you are going to respond to it, by either "playing the victim" or moving forward as you CHOOSE to.

I absolutely love the page in the back of the book "The Choice is Mine" where she gives great one line awareness of "When I am Tuned Into My Chatterbox" and "When I am Tuned into My Higher Self" (I'll just give you the first line) "I try to control" "I trust."

Susan Jeffers' work is authentic and invaluable. If you feel fear in your life, this book will help you move forward.

Summary: An amazing book which brims with confidence
Review: I came across this book by chance, whilst rummaging through several self-help books in the Local Library. Dr.Susan Jeffers is truly an amazing author. Her book inspires me and I read and re-read selected portions everyday. In fact, I carry this book in my bag and treasure every page of the volume. A truly marvellous book. I just wish I had come across this wonderful book earlier in my life.

Summary: Simple yet profound
Review: I really liked this book because it is a quick read, hopeful and extremely practical. There is nothing confusing or complicated to do to start the process of moving past one's fears. I think Jeffers is very wise to keep it simple and not over complicate the solutions. However, she also makes it clear that it won't happen over night and that one must constantly check themselves. That's not an easy thing to do, to be tuned into your "chatterbox," but I think she really hits the nail on the head by identifying internal negativity as a root of our fears. I will refer back to this book many times.

Summary: Faced My Fear
Review: I was fired from my job, which was my greatest fear. A friend told me about Feel the Fear, it has really helped me deal with my thoughts about what to do with my life after being fired. Another book that helped me is Rat Race Relaxer: Your Potential & The Maze of Life by JoAnna Carey.

Summary: Empowering!
Review: I was going through loss of a job and a job search, and had been scared and depressed for months. A good friend lent me this book and urged me to read it. I've never been one for self-help books, but WOW! It was just what I needed at the right time in my life. It is very easy to read, and the concepts in it - "you are in control of your thoughts and actions and can handle whatever life gives you" - are so simple and powerful! I wish I had read it years ago. It has helped me to make a difference in my approach to life.

Summary: Fear keeps lirking, keep a reference
Review: I've read Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway half a year ago when I thought my fears where paralyzing me. Jeffers words offered quieting counsel to the doubtful voices in my head. Today I reread chapter 7, How to Make a No-Lose Decision.

As I strive to live up to my full purpose in life, I count self-doubt and worry as my beguilingly steadfast companions. These are the simplest lessons: Believe in yourself; Do not give in to bullies; You can do it! Yet, they are most difficult to learn and require refresher courses.

Granted there are thousands of self-help books around, all satires aside, we need them. Picking up Feel the Fear again was like talking with a trusted friend after a most hellacious internal conflict and then clearly hearing the reassuring counsel, "Go for it anyway."

Summary: Pounds the obvious home
Review: Self-improvement is necessarily about finding some secret formula, getting the right therapist, or moving to a new city. It's about being told those thing you know to be true over and over until they sink in. Feel the Fear is about those things we know to be true yet seem to forget: Blaming others for our failures, blaming ourselves for things we should have done better, listening to that "little voice" that tells us what we shouldn't do.

It's not the kind of book you read once only to emerge a changed person, rather, it gets your mind going. After one reading, you'll find yourself quoting passages as if someone has "found you out". You will catch yourself in conversation when you say weak phrases like "I can't, I should, It's a problem" only to change them mid-sentance to empowering words such as "I won't, I could, and It's an opportunity".

Read it twice. It will impact you deeply. It will teach you to take responsibility. There is no silver bullet. Self-awareness is the real path to self-improvement. I loved it.

Summary: How are you being?
Review: So much about achieving anything worthwhile isn't just about "doing." It's also about "being" -- the understanding of where we are now, the sensing of ourselves in the moment. This is probably the toughest thing to understand when moving forward on a goal. On the other side of fear is exhilaration, great power. Once we get this concept of "feeling the fear," and sense it deep within our bones, the transformation can be spectacular as we rise to battle and defeat a most scary foe. So what's the downside of feeling the fear? Absolutely nothing. It's a good thing. It helps us know when we are most aware and whether we're on track. Like sadness and pain, it's an integral part of a well-lived life.
