Summary: First To Die
Review: A terrific read! While partial to his Alex Cross books, I enjoyed this one thoroughly - except for the last few pages. Of course, I was disappointed with the ending of his last book, Roses Are Red, as well. That said, I could not put the book down, until I got to the last 25% - then I wanted to read it as slowly as I could to savor it. It was great to read about strong women (as opposed to woman) and by such an entertaining author. James Patterson knows how to keep your attention and keep the story moving. You can almost see and smell what the heroine sees and smells! Read it - you'll be glad you did.

Summary: Wonderful book, Can't wait for more from Lindsey Boxer
Review: I am not a huge fan of fiction. However there are several authors I will read when they release a new work. James Patterson is one of them.

I LOVED this book. I found the way he went from first person to third was well done. The women in the story were witty and well defined. Patterson knows how to write women.

I have enjoyed the Alex Cross series but with this new turn in Patterson's writing I can't wait to see what he comes up with next. This book is one you won't be able to put down and will think about long after the last page has been read.

Summary: I hate to admit it!
Review: 1st To Die was my first Patterson novel. I absolutely could not set it down. I loved the short chapters and fast pace. The gathering of the four women to discuss the case grabbed me hook-line-and-sinker.

Summary: 1st to Die
Review: I devoured this book within 24 hours. As always, the pace of James Patterson's writing was fast and gripping. Each woman from the "club" is unique and offers her own viewpoint and spin on each crime. I was so sure I had the end figured out..... However, there were a few surprises that left me thinking long after i shut the book closed!

Summary: 1st to Die first try
Review: This could develop into something good for Patterson. The Women's Murder Club as a follow-up to Det. Alex Cross. I enjoyed this very much, But work needs to be done on the "women" to strengthen their characters. Patterson definitely shows his flexability.

Summary: Not his best work
Review: I was a little disappointed in this new endeavor by Mr. Patterson. Perhaps I expected too much after reading his other great novels. This was a good, light mystery, very predictable but I really wish I had not bought it at full price...I should have waited on a used paperback copy. The idea of a Mystery Club made up of professional women just doesn't ring true. Many times I've read books by men trying to "know" what women think and how they react (and the oposite is true of women authors trying to write about men) but it always seems to fall flat somehow. I hope Mr. Patterson hasn't gone the way of John Grisham and is just writing to "get the next one out there"

Summary: 3 1/2 hours later...
Review: ... I closed the cover and started wanting more! A real page-turner with characters I can relate to and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing to the last page. Patterson has outdone himself this time. Is the next one done yet???

Summary: 1st To Die
Review: I have read most of James Patterson's books, and all of the Alex Cross novels. This book went above and beyond my wildest dreams. I was hooked from the first word to the last, and the twists and turns that the plot took, keep me ever page of the way. I am looking forward to the release of the sequal, and am hoping that Patterson continues with this series and makes Lindsey, Claire, Cindy & Jill household words just like he did with Alex Cross!

Summary: Great Concept but Half Baked
Review: I was very excited about the new series when I read the book jacket. I have read every other book by James Patterson. I found this book to be overly simplistic and the plot implausable. Several of the red herrings were ridiculous and the ending was a betrayal. It just did not add up.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!! Won't disappoint loyal Patterson fans!
Review: This book was fabulous! I read it in just ONE sitting and that says a lot! It was easy to read because I was so curious to find out what would happen next! It was far better than Pattersons Cradle and All and When the Wind Blows. I stopped rushing out to get his books after they got a little "strange". But this one was back to his "usual" great plot line and writing style. I really liked the new "female" heroine and the 4 women that made up the club. I was disappointed with one aspect of the ending, but I don't want to give it away. I guess it couldn't have everything end up happy.... But despite that one thing, it was a WONDERFUL read! Very suspenseful and fast moving. You won't have time to get bored. I'm ready for the next one already!
