Rating: Summary: 6 stars Review: I got this book thru amazon.com couple of days ago and I finished about half of it. As a woman, I respect Hilary so much. First of all, I am neirher a Democrat nor a republican. I am a foreign student in USA. As a woman who is still living in male dominent world, I have so much respect for her what she has accomplished as a woman and her political visions. People who hates her will hate her no matter what she writes or says. That's the impression that I got from lots of reviewers who wrote negative reviews. Also, many of them didn't even bought or read the books!!! Take it from me who is very free from American politics. We need more peole like her in power to make this world at least a bit better place than what it is now.
Rating: Summary: Hillary is being "freeped" Review: Goodness! If one were to belive these reviews giving Hillary's book one to two stars, you'd think it's the print version of the movie "Plan Nine from Outer Space." The truth is, this review forum is being "freeped," a term used by a very conservative website when they get their members to deluge a poll or something like this review forum to make a liberal politician, writer, or scholar look bad. The truth is, it's simply a very, very loud minority with LOTS of time on their hands to bad-mouth liberals. Don't let their reviews scare you away...I got the book for Father's Day, and Hillary is a brilliant writer and scholar, and a strong, proud, brave woman. Buy, read, and enjoy this book...a nice change of pace from the shrieking harpies Coulter, Hannity and O'Reilly.
Rating: Summary: Some of the facts Review: Hilary lives in a Harry Potter world. Nothing is real in her life and the facts are still hidden. This book is just a pathetic attempt to make money. There is not one thing in this book that we did not know and in fact there are things that we do know that she did not write about.Throughout history strong women have not stayed with promiscuous husbands unless the affairs were not public. Hilary seems oblivious to it all which historically is not normal. It is a good thing to forgive your husband but to act like it is no big deal is ignorance. It is a good thing that Hilary believes in abortion or there would be more Clintons running around and ruining the lives of our children and grandchildren!
Rating: Summary: Worth your time...an interesting read Review: Having received HRC's new book as a gift while recuperating from surgery, I have spent the past several days being educated, entertained, touched, and surprised by the life this woman has lived. My one quibble is the editing: at times, transitions between subjects seem somewhat awkward. More scrupulous editing would have helped. Even with that reservation, I can whole-heartedly recommend this book. Open minded readers will not regret buying it and are in for a fascinating read!
Rating: Summary: Hillary for President Review: This book will get loads and loads of criticism from people all over the country. But I can say as a former Republican I really have seen the light and this book has given me hope about the future. The moment I first heard about the Clintons I did not like them but the more educated I have become and the more interested I have become in public policy, the more I have grown to overlook the negative smear campaign and come to appreciate the dedication of both Clinton's to public service. This book gives the reader an opportunity to hear first hand about Hillary's childhood and her path to who she is today. I recommend this book highly with one caveat: if you're looking for pages and pages of Monica you're not going to find it. This is really about Hillary's life and her reaction to what was happening around her.
Rating: Summary: Righties didn't even read it! Review: This is a book filled with policy. If you liked the Clinton's and their policies, you'll like this book. If you didn't and you are here, there is probably a pretty good chance you never will and your sole purpose for coming here is to right a bogus review so that you can repeat some rhetoric you heard on talk radio and give it a single star in order to lower the overall rating. I mean get real here! ... Is it a good book? Just like any policy book, it depends on your own perspective. What it is is well written, thoughtful, and obviously the work of someone with a great deal more intellect than many current pols. If you are a "ditto Rush" kind of person, you won't like it. If you are open to the idea that maybe someone who was integrally involved in an administration that coincided with the most properous period in American history might have some insights to offer, you'll find it a good read.
Rating: Summary: Why I recommend this highly. Review: It's well worth the money. It was a great idea in bringing Hillary closer to the people. She explains her policies which is what should matter to the people. I was never interested in finding out about her family issues but I am glad she wrote about her political side. Looking forward to reading her book after she hopefully goes through her Presidency term of the United States.
Rating: Summary: A BOOK FOR EVERY WOMAN Review: Smart, savy, and really well written. This book is an intimate (but not excessively intimate) glimpse into the heart and mind of a brilliant woman who has surmounted an incredible amount of hateful criticism, gossip and innuendo. Her wisdom and dignity remain untarnished. I am recommending this autobiography to every thoughtful woman I know.
Rating: Summary: Waste of money and time! Review: This was passed on to me by a friend who couldn't finish it. I am an avid reader and seldom put down a book without finishing it, but I couldn't finish this one either. Poorly written, same old refrains and hysterical undertones. Definitely not straighforward and honest. Much of what I read was totally unbelievable. Don't waste your money!
Rating: Summary: Hillary IS living history. Review: I love Hillary Clinton! She is the definition of a good polition. Not only does she have strong faith but also has personal values and cares about the needs of others less fortunate then her. I am currently reading her auto biography and it is actually very interesting. She tells it in a personal way and shows her influences throughout her life, her travels and whatnot. There are also a lot of glossy pictures featuring her with Bill, Chelsea, Socks (Their pet cat), with other famous politiions and people in her life. I seriously don't get what all the bad reviews are. Someone stated that she said something else then what she wrote in the book in an interview or said it differently. What was she suppsed to do? Read over the ENTIRE book first and then make sure she doesn't make a single mistake in the interview? Please. Don't listen to all the haters. This book is very informative and is through a timeline format. Do not go directly and look up Lewinsky because there is much more interesting information. I never was really much of a HIllary fan before I started reading this book, but now you can call me a fan. It's one of those books that if you're buisy you can leave it and go to another chapter whenever you're ready to read again. It also includes lots of color photos which make it a really good deal. Please don't listen to the average customer review. What's this about a right-wing conspiracy? LOL. Peace and God Bless.
