Rating: Summary: Nutspeak Review: Orwell would have enjoyed meeting O'Reilly. He had an appreciation for whacko propagandists. As it turns out, not that many people have actually read the O'Reilly tripe. Right wing groups buy O'Reilly's books in bulk and give them to their nuttier followers who then use them for doorstops. They can't read anyway and they believe anything they're told to believe. Even though it's different day to day. Fox encourages these things because it makes people think Fox is important. Remember, although it isn't obvious, Fox doesn't claim O'Reilly is working as a "journalist" because they know he's not. He's the host of a zone that doesn't spin, but turns upside down in a twisted House of Mirrors. Nope, for the big news, Fox turned to Geraldo. Bill O'Reilly is today's Big Brother and he's watching you. Creepy.
Rating: Summary: Powerful and honest Review: This book is the antidote for all of those French history books you read when you were in your third year of the PhD program at the University. It's exactly what all of the so-called academics who specialize in so-called research would hate for you to read if you were blind and had no hands. O'Reilly makes it plain from the very first page that this is really going to be a book, and that it's going to have a cover, and some chapters, and a back cover, and a seam. Unfortunately, I did not lose any weight at all! I recommend "The South Beach Diet."
Rating: Summary: A Pathetic Book Review: O'Reilly is a narcissistic moron. His brand of arrogance and sensationalism is exciting and appealing only to readers who are unable to form their own opinions. Wakeup folks. Start thinking for yourselves.

Rating: Summary: Unfair and unbalanced Review: In this book O'Reilly attacks hip hop, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and Jesse Jackson and makes Dan Rather contradict himself. Are you starting to get the feeling that this guy is conservative? All this comes from a guy that can't handle a tough interview himself. When Fresh Air challenged him on a bunch of the crap he spouts out on a daily basis he walked off the show like a little baby. When Al Franken slammed him at the book fair he pretty much just stood up and did his pattented move by telling hime to shut up with out being able to present a fact or an argument. Pretty much this guy and his whole network are a bunch of right wingers that spread the Bush agenda. If you try and make an intelligent argument in the 40 seconds he gives you he'll either interrupt you or tell you to shut up. Not only that he has the whole program to develop his argument and then by the time it comes to your short segment he'll throw all these things at you that he claims are 'facts'. He's a real sly man, and I suspect in a fair debate he would end up falling flat on his face. Just look at the Fresh Air interveiw! He ran with his tail between his legs! Once he left there truly was fresh air, because I think he stinks!
Rating: Summary: A Fair Book Review: It seems to me that those who purchased this book refused to take a look at the facts with a independent mind. Bill wrote a book based on his opinions. Examples are given of the media being left of center. I can't argue the facts expressed by some people that there have only been two Democratic presidents elected in the past 35 years. However, I will remind those who hold this as evidence of a right-wing media, that Democrats controlled congress almost every year for the longest time until 1994. The president is not a dictator, but one of three branches. I would certainly dismiss any comments that use Al Franken as a legitimate source of factual information as I would dismiss any statement made Bill without proof or documentation. I can assure you that Al Franken neither is nore does he claim to be independent, and is a pawn for the Democratic party. I would also add that I ocassionally view he factor, and on several ocassions, I have heard Bill critize President Bush and Republicans. My opinion is that anyone who reads this book, read it (as with all books) with a open mind. Weigh the facts presented by the author, and form your opinion from there. As for the wording. My personal opinion is the book is easy to read, well worded, and worth reading, esp. if anyone is interested in media coverage of current events. I would also add the point of reviewing a book is not to agree or disagree with the author, but to rate the overall quality and impact of the book. I think it is sad when one forms a opinion and makes a comment not based on the facts or the material presented in the book, but on their own personal belief. Thanks
Rating: Summary: A sad sad book Review: written by a sad sad man. I only gave it one star because Amazon required that some amount of stars be given. In my own scale this book does not even deserve consideration of stars or any mention at all. I mention it here just to save you some time. Don't waste it on this poorly written dribble. O'Reilly is a very sad man in desperate need of therapy.
Rating: Summary: Bill's Best (One of them) Review: Again I love this guy! He puts words down on paper that keeps me coming back for more. He uses humor, understanding, common sense, and represents the opinion of a lot people out there. Mr. O hasn't let me down yet.
Rating: Summary: WOW IMAGINE THAT THE WHITE JESSE JACKSON Review: REPEAT ATFER ME YOU RIGHT-WING DOPES, THERE IS NO LIBERAL MEDIA THIS IS A CONSERVATIVE COUNRTY WHO HAS ONLY ELECTED TWO DEMOCRACTS IN THE LAST 35 YEARS.(ESPEICALLY WHEN MOST OF THE MEDIA IS CONSERVAITVE ANYWAY) I DON'T THINK FOR MYSELF BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE O'REILLY ARE THINKING FOR ME AND I WILL REPEAT EVERYTHING THEY SAY VERBATIM BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL KNOWING.AND I HAVE NO IDEAS OR THOUGHTS OF MY OWN. NOW BE A GOOD RIGHT-WINGER AND SIT IN THE CORNER AND FRY THE REMAINING LACK OF BRAIN CELLS YOU HAVE WATCHING O'REILLY AND BUYING BOOKS BY THE WHITE "JESSE JACKSON.
Rating: Summary: Just Like The Show Review: This review is of the audio book version. I loved this book. To me it felt like a greatest hits version of his show. From George W. Bush to Al Sharpton, it was fascinating hearing their responses to Bill's questions. What I enjoyed the most was that since I am fairly new to watching the show, the interviews were ones that I had never seen or heard. I highly recommend this for anyone who is a fan of the show, but it becomes a necessity for anybody that has just began watching it. Perhaps the best part of the book is the section dealing with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. It was quite interesting learning about the relationship between Sharpton and Jackson and the numerous financial discrepancies with Jackson's organizations. The ending of the book was also quite informative. Bill concludes with advice on how-to live a no spin life, from dealing with friends to dealing with the media. My only reason for giving 4 stars and not 5 was that the book quickly outdates. Many of the issues discussed are still relevant, but the people involved have changed positions or seem less important now. Besides that, excellent book from Mr. O'Reilly.
