Rating: Summary: Cool!!! Review: Right on...I liked this book. This was the first book I have ever read by Patterson, and I liked it...very mind boggeling. The plots were really cool and interesting. The only thing is now I'm hangin' till "violets are blue" comes out to get the rest of the story! Anyway...this was totally worth the time taken to read. That's all I have to say.
Rating: Summary: Someone who didn't miss the genius of this book Review: I've read the other reviews here and what everyone seemed to not like about the book is what I consider the genius of this book. The fact that there were so many different angles and so many different villians made this so much more enjoyable. Just when you think they caught the bad guy, it would lead to someone else. When I was finished with this book my eyes were so wide with excitement that I realized once again why I read James Patterson. He's so unpredictable, his books are filled with suspense, and I'm always wanting more when I'm done. I've read all his other Alex Cross novels and I would have to say the earlier works were his best. However, this is fiction. It sounds like some of the readers think they picked this book up in the non fiction section. So what if a character didn't act the way you would have or the FBI would never let a DC Detective lead the investigations. Once again, it's FICTION. I guess when I read these books I just enjoy the story and try not to look any further than that. Any one who critiques a fiction novel is going to find holes. Why your at it why don't you whine that there is not a DC Detective named Alex Cross. Another thing, when you read novels that have a recurring character, you are going to experience cliff hangers.
Rating: Summary: Once again Review: Once again James Patterson does it. He is my favorite author. He keeps you going and not wanting to have to stop reading. All his books are good. He knows to pick the caractors well. Alex is the best person in the book. I will keep reading his books.
Rating: Summary: ANOTHER GREAT ONE Review: I loved this one just as much as all of his other ones with Alex Cross. They just keep getting better and better. Can't wait to read the next one.
Rating: Summary: Book reveals Author Review: After many years of enjoying the writing of this talented author, he has finally outdone himself just as his genius bad guy in this book. Roses are Red has successfully become the beginning of a soap opera. Guess what? I do not care for soap operas nor the way this book ended. Not only has the mastermind successfully outwitted the good guys, the author has outwitted his reader into believing he wrote a book instead of a soap opera. I am so glad that there are so many other talented authors to read just as there are channels to watch something different than soaps. He has truly become a mastermind for some other fond readers other than myself.
Rating: Summary: Alex Cross has had better days! Review: As much as I enjoy all of the Alex Cross series, I found this particular book to drag on a bit. I must admit though that the ending was a total surprise and I do look forward to reading Patterson's next novel, Violets are Blue. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the read, but Patterson has had better.
Rating: Summary: Non stop thrill a minute that you can't go wrong with!!! Review: From the first moment you begin this book until you hit the earth shattering, heart stopping, and tear shedding ending you will not be disappointed with this book. I was hooked from page one and life stopped while I became part of Alex Cross' world. If you have never read anything from James Patterson, this is a good one to start with. IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: More twists and turns than usual for a Cross book. The ending certainly leaves open a sequel to this story line. It is truly his best work for the Cross series to date. Much better than Jack and Jill or Cat and Mouse.
Rating: Summary: No Clues. No Reasoning. No Fun. Review: This was my first James Patterson novel, picked up on a weekend vacation. I like mysteries, crime novels, etc. and I will say it really was a page turner. I was anxious to get to the end to see who was the "Mastermind", since I hadn't been able to tell so far. I was so thoroughly disappointed with the way Patterson ended it. Fans of this genre like to at least guess at who the killer might be. I almost get the impression that Patterson didn't even know. Just picked someone at the end. No clues. No reasoning. No fun. I might give Patterson one more try. He's sold so many millions of books, something must be entertaining. But not this one. I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing. I wouldn't have.
Rating: Summary: Bitter after-taste Review: This book flowed from beginning to end. Unfortunately, when I finished and put it down, my mind went "what the #@%^??" Patterson hoped that by leaving the ridiculous surprise till the final sentence would make readers think that they had a pretty good time, and then not bother to think about the improbabilities of the book's plot. I find myself being cheated by a man who I, the reader, has made a millionaire and who does not bother to sit down and think of a better ending than this. Then again, I would expect this kind of arrogance from a writer whose protagonist is as annoyingly perfect at everything as Alex Cross. Back to more serious literature until I forget and come back to donate another 10 bucks..
