Summary: 12 Days on the Road
Review: Whether or not you are a rock and roll fan or were even around at the time of this tour, this book is a must read. By the time you get to the end of the book you will feel as though you were on tour with the band experiencing all of the highs of being in a world famous band as well as the usually unseen pitfalls. Unlike other music biographies, this one is NOT a gossip column, but simply an account of 12 days. If you have ever toiled with the idea of becoming famous, read this insightful book before you decide. Five stars!

Summary: Don't Waste Your Time
Review: Written on a 1st grade level, 12 Days on the Road is the worst account of an autobiography I've ever read. If you want sex, drugs, and what makes the world go 'round- try "Rotten" by John Lydon or Wonderland Avenue (not Sex Pistols related) by Danny Sugerman.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Invaluable insight
Review: You're not going to get a better perspective on the phenomenon and demise of the sex pistols than this. Written by their road manager (a euphemism, really, for being nanny to Sid), this is a first-hand account on what was seen and experienced in that compact little bubble of the Pistols' tour bus. Other great writing on the Pistols can be found in Legs McNeil's Please Kill Me, Jon Savage's England's Dreaming, and Rotten's (meandering) autobiography. But this is must-read stuff: Unromanticized, a little monotonous, lots of tension. In other words: You're right there, on the bus with them.
