Summary: Beware
Review: Just a word for people who are subscribers of WebTV. The concept used to find stocks as suggested by Jon Markman, while very interesting and very helpful, are not applicable to investors using WebTV. The information neccesary to follow his working models is only available on windoows-based PCs. Do not purchase this book if you are using WebTV!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: MUST BUY if you want to gain confidence in investing.
Review: Just BUY It! Visit Supermodel Community at MSN Moneycentral! Start Investing! Continue your day job!

Summary: Its all you need for todays market.
Review: Mr. Markman has done a great job reviewing most of the assest available on the net you can use to make valid investment decsions. Also included are his own stradegies. This book is a great addition to the MoneyCentral site and the Super Model community sponsored by Microsoft. Great advice. A lively writing style. You can make money with this book. Just enough graphs and enough math to prove the points. Best book I've read since the first Motley Fool investment guide.

Summary: If I found it interesting, you most likely will too!
Review: My dad, Raymond, above, sent me this book for my birthday. It may prove to be one of the most valuable birthday presents I have ever received. I have yet to get fully invested. However, I have found the book very approachable and informative. I tend not to stay interested in reading books. With Markman's book it is quite the opposite. I have read and re-read the book, underlining certain parts, annotating sections, and checking web pages he mentions. If you have been waiting for the "right" time, NOW is the time! (Actually, you and I are a little late.... ;-) )

Summary: Informative
Review: The book is interesting in that it shows the Supermodels Approach to investing. It does target Growth, Value and Contrarian Strategies, and seems to advocate growth. The book was written previous to the 04-2000 Bear Market, so I would Keep tabs to check whether models hold. Although on the tools side, the book is focused mainly on MSN Moneycentral's site, it also does a fair job of pointing the reader to other on-line tools/information sources like Bigcharts, Briefing.com, Clearstation... Only concern is that some of the definitions of indicators seem to be almost copy/pasted from the explanations at websites (i.e.:Bigcharts indicators). Anyway, all in all it was very informative, and shows a way to deal with a 10000+ companies Stock Market, which is quite different than a 200+ stock market like Jesse Livermore's.

Summary: A superb addition to your library of investing tools
Review: The Internet has given us the ability to manage our investments with online tools like MoneyCentral, etc.

Mechanical Investing is an area of investing that is profitable and fun. Jon will explain to you how to use online investing resources to mechnically invest/trade your way to success. The strategies are real and I personally use them, among many other investing strategies.

Cheers, MGB

Summary: Recipe for Doom
Review: This author has great 20/20 vision of the past with financial models and trading strategies that are well scripted for modern investing. The book handles multiple issues and will definitely increase your confidence in on-line trading. Which is why the book is totally flawed and spells doom for the majority of online investors, because their confidence will blind them to their continuous losses inherent in the practice of online investing.

Summary: Markman showed me the money
Review: This book has no gimmicks, just valuable lessons that are applicable whether the DOW is at 10,000 or 1,000. Markman gives a thorough, excellent and complete guide to become a knowledgeable on-line investing, as opposed to an aimless on-line trader.

To be a good investor, you only need to buy:

William O'Neill's, "How to Make Money in Stocks" and Jon Markman's "Online Investing."

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book, sophisticated yet easy
Review: This book has some eye-opening techniques that are not obvious, but it's written in a way that gets straight to the point and makes it easily understandable. This is far more than a directory of what information is out there - it's the "so what", and speaks about how to use that information in ways not previously possible. The author has tested each technique and shows their results, which are impressive. There is a recap of the basics, for anyone who has forgotten them. There are also sections on some pretty advanced fundamental analysis and technical analysis. Will refer to this book for quite a while to come.
