Review: When I first started CGI programming on the AS/400, I used Net.Data. Then I found out I could do even more with RPG, the language I already used every day and was very familiar with!Because of this, I decided to write a book that takes the reader from the basics of HTML to writing fully functional and interactive web pages using RPG! This book will teach you the basics of HTML and JavaScript, lead into the concept of CGI programming (using a program to provide dynamic content to a web page), setting up the AS/400 as a web server, using the web APIs already available on your machine, and finally many examples of e-RPG programs. The AS/400 has really become an all-in-one machine, and using the web serving capabilities together with RPG, you'll soon find yourself entering a whole new world of development that is exciting and rewarding! This book is for the beginning web developer who needs to learn HTML first to the advanced web developer that just needs to find out how to write dynamic HTML with RPG. I hope you find reading this book as enjoyable as I did writing it!
