Summary: READ THIS BOOK!
Review: The very first book I bought on wealth was at the age of thirteen. Tons of books later, this book came along and changed everything. I have put his ideas into practice and I am already seeing results. I bought my first rental with no money down and the seller gave me a check at closing! Do not hesitate. For $10 you can't miss.

Summary: Excellent Choice
Review: I was watching Oprah one afternoon (like many others who have reviewed this book) and I had the chance to listen to Robert Kiyosaki give an overview of the premises contained in his new book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". I bought the book that afternoon and read it NONSTOP, finishing it that same night. I have since reread it 3 times and purchased "CashFlow Quadrant" (Part 2 of Rich Dad) finishing it in much the same manner.

I have 2 masters degrees in education and an undergrad in business marketing. After reading this book, I feel that I now have 3 pieces of paper (and that's about it). I am not discounting higher education. I loved the time that I spent in college. However, college seems to have become more of a "rite of passage" than a "road to wealth". This book discusses that discovery and how to act upon it. If you get RICH DAD, go ahead and buy CASH FLOW because you'll want it ASAP ! I have recommended it to all of my friends and family....EXCELLENT CHOICE!

Summary: Gain an entirely new outlook on money...
Review: When I started reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad, I was expecting a high-hype, get rich quick, motivational book. However after reading only the first 20 pages of the book I was shocked to find that this is not the case at all. Robert gives new concepts and ways of looking at money. For me the biggest thing was his standpoint on assets and liabilities. When I used to think of "getting rich" I would think 'high paying job', 'own my own business'. But as Robert explains this is not necessary at all. A person can become substantially rich off of his normal day job, by taking his income and investing it in the assets column instead of the liabilities column. I know that doesn't make much sense now, but I encourage you to read the book. It could be one of the most mind-opening experiences you ever encounter.

Summary: GREAT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO LEARN ABOUT MONEY
Review: WHILE WATCHING OPRAH ONE DAY I SAW ROBERT KIYOSAKI PROMOTING HIS BOOK (LIKE THE BOOK NEEDED ANY MORE PRESS) AND IMMEDIATELY I DECIDED TO ORDER IT FROM AMAZON. I FINISHED THE BOOK IN VIRTUALLY NO TIME AT ALL AND FELT I ALREADY HAD A BETTER GRASP ON THE MONETARY FUTURE OF MY LIFE. AS I READ THIS BOOK I BEGAN TO BETTER UNDERSTAND WHAT MR. KIYOSAKI MEANT BY WHAT AN ASSET WAS AND WHAT A LIABILITY IS. ALTHOUGH I DON'T HAVE THE MONETARIAL FOUNDATION OR THE EDUCATION AS OF YET I DO NOW UNDERSTAND WHAT THE RAT RACE IS AND HOW TO STAY OUT OF IT.

Summary: Wish I had This Book When I Was Nine Years Old
Review: This book has opened my eyes to financial intelligence. I have always known that working for a corporation until I was 65 years old so that I could retire was not the right track but I like many others had the go to school get good grades and work hard doctrine drummed into my brain. I am now 38 years old, a Poor Dad and deeply entrenched in the rat race with debt up the ying yang. This book has pointed out in a clear and precise manner what I did wrong and what I need to do right (the simple diagrams are priceless). The $10 spent on this book is nothing because the information is worth so much more. I hope to instill the Rich Dad concepts in my children so that they don't have to live in the Rat Race. Thank God it's never to late to change and improve. As was pointed out in the book the Kentucky Fried Chicken guy amassed his fortune at 65. Once you read the book it is very important that you be honest with yourself and then take action. Believe me it was tough and painful reading this book and realizing that I followed the Poor Dad philosophy my entire life. If I can help it, my children won't. I would highly recommend this book to you, your children and those that you love.

Summary: Great book to teach how you get economic freedom !!
Review: I had worked as a software engineer for a long time, and honestly I really wanted to be a rich person but I didn't know what and how I shoud do. Actually, this book is telling you about very basic things about what we think of money, and also the author tries to tell you how you should change your thought about money and your life. After reading this book, I started studying BS, PL, and Cashflow to improve my economic life. This book is not that difficult even to an engineer like me, and it will be a great guide leading you to get economic freedom in your life.

Summary: Simply Outstanding
Review: In simple words, this book totally changed the way I think about money and my relationship with the green stuff. Written so simply, yet powerfully clear in its intent. I literally had a career epiphany while reading this book. I advise you to purchase this book immediately, I bought copies for all my friends and family.

Summary: Still a valuable read...
Review: Yes, there is an element of "the greedy capitalist" in this book. Yes, there is an element of condescension in the tone of the book. Yes, there is an element of "education isn't everything". Yes, there is an over-emphasis on real estate investment and MLM as roads to financial success. Yes, there is the not always true distraction of 'be a business owner, never an employee". And, yes there is repetition of simple concepts, and a tendency toward the simplistic.

There are also very valuable lessons - lessons taught best through story- and Mr. Kiyosaki's personal experience. Valuable themes include:

Not everyone learns in the same way. Just because you aren't / weren't "book smart", doesn't mean you're doomed to mediocrity. Put your financial house in order instead of buying into the "whomever dies with the most toys, wins" mentality. Your home shouldn't be your biggest asset. A bigger house every 3 years makes for higher expenses and a lifetime mortgage. Anyone can gain wealth by saving and investing - but you must spend less than you earn first.

It is not the be-all and end-all book to make you rich - but it doesn't promise that, either. No book is going to be tailor made for your educational/ financial/ life situation. This book is excellent, though, in conveying some basic principles of gaining wealth. Whether you're chronologically or at all -financially- adolescent, you will gain some valuable insight from this book.

This book will help me teach my kids some lessons I'd already learned, and reinforced some basic financial principles for me. A quick read, and worth reading.

Summary: FOR THE JUNIOR TO BE (IN COLLEGE)
Review: I SELECT THIS TITLE BASICALLY BECAUSE THE JUNIOR IN COLLEGE IS USUALLY PLANNING... IT'S A GOOD BOOK IN THAT IT WOULD PROVIDE INSIGHT TO THOSE THAT "ARE IN COLLEGE", ARE LOOKING TOWARDS THEIR FUTURE AND A FUNDAMENTAL AVENUE ON HOW TO PLAN THEIR FINANCES BEFORE THAT DAY ARRIVES. IT'S THE AUTHORS OPINION AS TO WHETHER COLLEGE IS NEEDED. I BELIEVE HE FEELS IT'S BEST BUT TRIES TO GET THROUGH TO THOSE THAT DON'T HAVE A COLLEGE EDUCATION THAT THEY CAN ALSO SUCCEED-IT'S NOT THE END. I CAN SEE HOW SOME MAY MISCONTRUE THE AUTHOR'S CONCEPT OF DEMPHASIZING EDUCATION. BASICALLY, INVEST WHAT YOU CAN. ROLL IT OVER TO EITHER BETTER FUNDS OR ACQUIRE A GOOD DEAL ON A REAL ESTATE. ROLL THAT OVER INTO A BETTER DEAL. YOU CAN USE HIS METHOD TO GAIN "THE SPOILS OF LIFE" AND NOT PAY OUTRIGHT. OR YOU CAN JUST BUY THAT CAR OUTRIGHT AND WAIT THAT MUCH LONGER TO BEGIN YOUR INVESTING DAYS. HE'S RIGHT. THE BOOK WAS OK. NOT GREAT.
