Rating: Summary: I AM A FINANCIAL MORON Review: And now I am not ashamed to admit it! Kiyosaki emphasizes the need to build your financial intelligence and the absolute importance of gaining knowledge before you invest...reading this book only made me realize that I am in no position to get rich...but this is only temporary...as a mid-twenties young professional, I realize the importance of building for the future, especially with times being as unstable as they are...this book definitely straightened out my mind and gave me a thin, but solid foundation with which to start gaining control of my financial future...Highly recommended..especially for financial morons! :)
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING! EYE OPENING! Review: THIS BOOK IS GREAT AND I WOULD ADVICE EVEN PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT INTERESTED IN BEING RICH TO READ IT.FULL OF INFORMATION TO LIVE YOUR LIFE BY.
Rating: Summary: A classic Review: If you're looking for a get rich quick book, don't buy this book. If you're interested in thinking deeply about your life and how money fits into it, buy this book now. I am now reading it for the 7th time, and every time I read it, I gain new insight into myself and money. I enjoy reading the negative reviews about this book because I can see just how much people miss the point. The point of the book, in my humble opinion, is WHY you make money and not HOW. Everybody wants to know the "big secret" to making money and getting rich, but nobody knows WHY they want it. The purpose of this book is to show the reader just how much time and energy people spend working for money, paying taxes on it and then spending it. There is a better way. If you don't find this book informative, I'm afraid there's no hope left for you. The point is so simple and easy to understand, I've had to read the book over and over again just to get it into my head. Yes, there are misspellings and grammatical problems, but for crying out loud, if that's the only thing a person gets from this book, please mail me your copy, so I can loan it out to a friend. In summary, buy this book, read it over and over again and really try to understand what it's all about. It's not about getting rich quick or the easy life. It's about making profound changes in your life and taking a good hard look at who you are and what you want to do with your life. Once you master money (e.g. get out of debt, stop wasting money, get your taxes under control), then your life will take on a completely different meaning. What makes this book so much different from others is that it is a holistic approach. Most books on money are insanely boring because they spend so much time talking about numbers and other "what ifs" that the real, true approach gets lost. Buy assets and not liabilities he says. If that sounds simplistic, it is. Money is not complicated. This book uncomplicates it. Just in case anybody is wondering, you will most definitely get rich following the advice in this book. I am well on my way. Happy reading.
Rating: Summary: The book for someone who wants there own business Review: Ok hopefully you're reading this before the other 218. this is the book to get if you decide that you want to be in business for yourself but have never done that or no one you know (really well) has. this book will set the mind set you must have in order to mentally compete with your friends ( who will laugh and ridicule you) and after reading this you will then decide that a business is good especially if I own it, however there's "systems" that you will have to learn and hopefully your system will produce lots of passive income- (the key and only way to have success) with the time to enjoy it. if you have money and no time your a professional, if you have no money but time your "hardworking blue collar". you read this book you will realize that no matter professional or blue you are BROKE. Rich Dad... sets up for you ( the mental toughness) to go from the " masses - employees/self employed " to the business owners/ investors " 2%". Come and join our club. Then read Cashflow Quadrant to learn how to put into action the knowledge you recieved..
Rating: Summary: FINANCIAL BOOK OF THE MILLENIUM! Review: This is the book to get for anyone who wants to learn about money and building wealth. All others on the subject are basically the same, but this is the one that really defies conventional wisdom and teaches you how to have the mindset to become wealthy. This book will pave the way people think entering the new millenium.RUSH AND BUY IT!
Rating: Summary: Completely Changed the way I think of Income Review: I bought Rich Dad Poor Dad and The Cashflow Quadrant. Basically the author shows you the typical poor/middle class financial statement with Income coming in from a job, and going out thru the expense column - meanwhile racking up lots of liabilities in the process, and accruing no assets. (Author's Definitions: ASSETS PUT MONEY INTO YOUR POCKET AND LIABILITIES TAKE MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET) Then the author shows the same thing for a wealthy person, only this person uses their money to rack up Income Producing Assets which then create an income stream into your Income column. Eventually, these multiple Asset Income Streams will remove the need for the Job Income Stream, and now you can concentrate on nurturing and growing your assets, and creating even more income from them. EXCELLENT!
Rating: Summary: An Eye-opening Book Review: This book has many messages: The two I would like to stress here are: 1. Learn to understand financial mechanisms and consequences of actions on your cash flow. 2. Use the gained knowledge and act accordingly. He does not claim to have the perfect recipy of 7 steps to wealth. Instead,he says, go out there and learn to see and evaluate opportunities. The learning is not easy but if you do it, you'll see opportunities (some of them with very, very low risk and immens return possibilities). I found this book particularly helpful after being prepared for this way of thinking by another book "The millionaire next door". I would recommend, reading "The Millionaire.." first and then "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". together they should give everybody the idea. While the Millionaire Book stresses the "save now and consume later" aspect, Kiyosaki builds up on this by saying "find opportunities to make more money" (which then can be used to save more and get even richer)
Rating: Summary: Buy it and lend it to friends Review: This is a very practical and easy to understand book. I am a Social Worker, very interested in business also. Robert presents a framework to understand financial decisions and opportunities that can be applied to any situation. I bought several copies of Rich Dad and Cashflow to lend to friends and family. There is a lot of rubbish out there about how to become wealthy etc, but this book is for everyone - the middle class and poor who want to improve their situation. If you are studying business or interested in improving your financial condition - read Roberts books - they are excellent! Then, lend it around to your friends and family.
Rating: Summary: Some Good Information Review: Mr. Kiyosaki does reveal some useful information about the basics of wealth creation. He is also clear about where he thinks his own father was mistaken about money. Of course he would prefer the reader buy all his books and his board game. Which for Mr. Kiyosaki would amount to some more wealth creation.
Rating: Summary: Half of it was like reading my life own story! Review: I grew up learning the lessons that the author of this book claims will lead you to financial disaster. So far, at 26 years of age, he's absolutely right! This book really opened my eyes to a completely different way of looking at finances. This is a book about the philosophy of money, not any actual plan to lead you to success. What the author provides is a "financial foundation" that you can use to see if you are heading in the right direction or not. If you are feeling frustrated about how your cashflow is heading, or if you want to leave the rat race, then this is definitely the book for you! I've managed to find a "rich dad" in my life, and things are looking much better! I would not have done this if I had not read this book!
