Review: Age-old wisdom about the market is put together in a succinct form to guide people in taking money from Wall Street. Learn to mine for gold rather than undermine your own success by reading the "Psychology of Trading" chapter et al. The book is great because you can read at any level (scan the key points to remember in each chapter, peruse the highlighted boxes at the side of the pages, then dig into each idea by reading the book fully) and become a winner. Steve is a great mentor with a down-to-earth style for ease of understanding.

Summary: Great Advice and Strategies
Review: Excellent book regardless of your trading experience, but especially useful for those who are relatively new in investing in stocks. Preserving capital is key to a long-term successful investing program, and there are some excellent guidelines on how much of your portfolio to allocate to options, what percentage of total portfolio to allocate to a single trade, etc. Following these guidelines can really help in preserving cash to take advantage of future opportunities. Recently, the use of the a 40-day moving average as explained in Chapter 16 enabled me to exit a trade and save over $2100 in potential losses had I been using my normal 100 day moving average. If you are new to options, this is an excellent primer, and I recommend it highly as a starting point. Use the 25 ways to improve your trading in Chapter 17, and you will become a more productive investor.

Review: I first saw Steve Wirrick on KWHY Channel 22 stationed in the Los Angeles area, way back in the mid 1990's. It was apparent that he was a step above the other financial commentators, and it was a pleasure to view him. When I found out he was writing a book, I could not wait to read it. I was not dissapointed. Having had some very trying times in my investing career, I found some simple strategies that made a world of difference. During the recent bull market in stocks I have learned foremost to be cautious, that one condition does not necessarily mean it will perpetually continue. The strategies Steve discusses on capital preservation are invaluable. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to improve their financial performance, keeping losses small and having an exit strategy applies to all areas of investment and prudent speculation.

Review: I have just completed High Octane Trading cover to cover. The book has many practical applications and useful strategies. The end of each chapter utilizes bullet points of key items for review and increased comprehension. There are many proven applications taught with a strong emphasis on the proper psychological mindset for trading the markets. The eloquent writing, the logical format and the way information is channeled, makes this book a must read for any trader. I know this book and its content will be the turning point in my investing.

Review: I have just finished reading High Octane. I am new to trading, and I found this book very helpful. It is written in an easily understandable style with great illustrations. It carefully built up my knowledge so that I have some confidence that I can successfully enter the world of options investing. If you are new to options, I strongly recommend that you try this book.

Review: Steve is a fantastic teacher! He has taken a very complex subject and made it clear and understandable. High Octane Trading and has improved my ability to read charts, recognize trends, and confirm the direction of a stock before trading. This book is a MUST READ for both novice and experienced traders.

Review: Steve Wirrick expertly takes the difficulty out of trading options. He breaks it down so that trading options is based on a small amount of information instead of an overwhelming amount of indicators that can leave you paralyzed. I also like his advice about risk management and the importance of taking the emotions out of trading. That advice has been the most beneficial to me. Steve's teaching in this book (as well as seminars and chat sessions) is straight forward and very informative.

Summary: Excellent Book Awful Trading Strategy
Review: This is excellently written. It takes a difficult subject and uses simple language to give the reader an overview of the subject. However the trading strategy is downright dreadful. Some friends and I have been using it for the past year and the results are terrible. By far the worst trading system, I've used. I have been keeping in touch with many of the individuals in the High Octane seminar and their results are either worse or the same as mine. I've used many of the stock picks the author recommends and find my picks usually have better results. Remind you that this is in one of the strongest bull markets in history. This book is strong on theory but of very little practical use.
When I,ve asked the author for proof that his system works, he tells me I'm too hard to please. Supposedly he has at least 120 transactions per month but can not produce any confirmation tickets.
The author is an excellent speaker and marketer. This system is the fastest one I've seen to empty to brokerage account. I have noticed many good reviews for this book but from these reviews I don't think any of them have used this system on real money on a day to day basis.
The money risk management that the author expounds on, causes a whipsawing effect.
Very interesting, thought provoking theoretical study. No real practical use. To date. I have found no one that can produce any evidence this system works. That is with hundreds of contacts that have tried this system. I'm still looking for anyone that can prove that this system wins more than it loses.

Review: To many traders attempt to look for the holy grail, or over-complicate the process of selecting a stock canadate, to entering and exiting a trade. High Octane Trading simplifies this process, while giving you much of the same information that is sold in many of the expensive over one-thousand dollar seminars.
