Summary: Another Good Book
Review: Monster was a a very good book.The positives about this book are that you get a sense of how the character feels during his whole ordeal in prison and on trial. Because part of the book is written like a movie, we could imagine how it would play out on film. The slang or street language fits well into this book. The setting was good too, for the book takes place in New York which seems like a dangerous place.The only negatives we find with this book was it was slow paced with little action.Other than that ,this book was good and we would recommend it to a friend.

Review: Walter Dean Myer has successfully captured the plight of a sixteen year old black boy, Steve Harmon, who is standing trial for murder. In an attempt to distance himself from the emotional pain, he writes it in the form of a movie that he is filming. Interspersed with the movie plot, there are handwritten pages of his experience of jail, which create a very personal connection to the boy for the reader.
It is an interesting book in that the reader is both juror and witness, and it is never clearly revealed whether he is innocent or guilty, even though he is exonerated. The book raises many moral questions as to how far culpability or responsibility extends and on a more personal note gives us insight into the torment and pain of this young boy. The black and white pictures shown through the book by Christopher Myers (his son) did not enhance my personal enjoyment of the book, but it is still a worth while read if you don't mind a quick and easy book.

Review: I have read many books but this book is definitely one of my
favorites. When I first started reading this book I could not put it down, but the last pages are what really made me love this book. It had such a strong message and each time I read it, it sends chills down my spine. I strongly support the decision for this book to receive the Coretta Scott King award. I am happy that other people realize what a great book this is and that Walter Dean Myers has won many awards for it. I strongly recommend this book to anyone, I already suggested this book to one of my friends and he read it, and said he really liked it too.

Summary: This is a GOOD BOOK!!
Review: If you like reading about murder trials..or robbing drugstores this is the book for you.. this book took me about a week to read but it was good! At first i thought it was going to be dumb but then i really got into it. This book is in Play form. which means this is basicly a play! In my 7th grade class we read this in play form.. It was cool. We set the room up as if if were a court room...ok ok im done im not telling any more information about this book. GO READ IT!!! ITS AWESOME!

Review: Have you ever been accused of something that you never done? You are about to read a story about someone that have been in that situation. An old man name Alguinaldo Nesbitt was running his store. He got robbed. while he was struggling with the thiefs over his gun he got shot and died!! Now Steve Harmon is in trial with James King, accussed of Nesbitts murder. Monster describes Steve Harmon's trial. Steve Harmon is sixteen-years of age. Now that some whats relates to me because I'm young and for just to imagine that I'm accussed of a murdering someone and the police puts in jail and I cant do nothing about it. I'll go crazy it's like if I were stuck in a hole and theres no solution to get out. I dont want to imagine how Steve was feeling. Away from his family , friends, school and parents. No way!! This book is the best. It grab my attention alot!! I did'nt want to stop reading at all. I wanted to keep going!

Review: I would recommend this book to anyone who has dealt with prison life. Not as if they have been in prison, but if they have famuly members in jail or if they have friends there. Monster, for me, really gave me insight to what the life of a young prisoner would be like.

Review: I would recommend to either a guy or a girl, i think they would both find it interesting. I would also recommend this to a person who likes mysterious types of books because Steven Harmon a sixteen year old boy is caught in a problem with the police. They have accused him of being a lookout or a store robbery in which a man was killed. I would also recommend this to anyone who likes Non-fiction books because it's based on a true story. Steve Harmon was a real guy and the robbery really did happen. I would also recommend this to anyone who likes intensity types of books, at the end when they are waiting for the jury's decision it was intense to see if he was innocent or guilty.
