Review: I will admit it, I thought 'It's before Martin the Warrior and Redwall isn't even built, so how interesting can it be?'. This book is incredible to say the least. The characters are bold, the heroes are brave and the detail is wonderful. Bravo!

Summary: A Very Fun Book, Sah!
Review: I purchased this book because my friends were reading other books in the Redwall series, and they told me this was one of the best. I though it was a little ridicoulus, though. I mean, that is a giant badger on the front with a sword in the middle of a war scene. But I got it because of their sheer encouragement, and read it all, and was quite impressed. The pace is quick and the story is delightful. The mountain of Salmandastron is inhabitaed by very old hares, badgers and other peaceful critters. All the young beasts have went elsewere, so the mountain is very vulernable to attack, if attack were to ever happen. Lord Stonepaw, the Badger Lord, sits and withers away more and more day by day at the top, but that all changes when strange events happen up until the great wildcat conquerer, Ungatt Trunn, comes and invades the mountain! Lord Brocktree sends his hare Fleescut to find reinforcements before Trunn's attack begins, and that start his adventure through Jukka The Sling, and much more. Elsewhere, Brocktree of Brockhall stumbles into young Dotti, the "fatal beauty", and they head to the mountain together. Brocktree goes because he feels he needs to, and Dotti goes because she is sent away from her parents to her Aunt, who lives on the mountain. Now, this book starts with four main character's adventures: Lord Brocktee & Dotti's quest towards Salmandastron, Fleescut & Jukka Sling's finding reinforcements, the older beasts and Stonepaw escape from the invaded mountain, and Ungatt Trunn's daily visions of the horrible Badger Lord coming for him. In the end, they all meet (except for Trunn) and form a plan for winnign back Salmandastron. I won't say any more about the book because I fear I've already said too much, but I suggest you check this and other Redwall books out if you like fun, perilous adventure books.

Review: I'd say this is a pretty good book. I thought that the author did a good job at using details. I thought that it was cool how the author made Brocktrees journey, and how Redwall got to the mountain. Brian also did a good job showing how much the badger and the wild cat hate one another. This book isn't hard to get into and once you do you won't want to stop reading it.

Summary: Lord Brocktree
Review: In reading "Lord Brocktree" I have decided that the book is a wonderfully crafted adventure novel. I think that anyone beyond the age of twelve could get something out of the book, if only they would look in the right places.
I think that the plot, although quite predictable at times, is full of twists and turns. The story lacks an element of suspense, but this fact is made up for by wonderful characterization and diction. I liked the language that the characters used, it really added a lot of depth to each different kind of animal.
This book was about a Badger Lord named Brocktree who is on a journey to reclaim the mountain Salamandastron. The mountain has been captured by an evil wildcat villain, Ungatt Trunn. Along the way the Badger Lord encounters many creatures and takes up an army to aid him in his quest. The end encounters a dual to the death between the Badger and the Wildcat.
I was impressed by the book's thoroughness in tying up all of the loose ends at the end and throughout the plot. The outcome is very rewarding, and sets the pace for the whole Redwall series, this book being a prequel.
In conclusion, I would recommend this book for a junior higher who would like to read a book with somewhat challenging language and full of twists and turns. I reward the book 4 stars due to its wonderful cast of characters and great imagery and diction, but did not see it as 5 star material because of the plot's predictability.

Review: This book was utterly horrible and what made it worse was that I bought it with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and that was utterly horrible too so don't get this book unless you feel like wasting money. People here give out 5's like candy. This book's plot is horrible, and the characters act like they were thought up when the guy had writers cramp. Don't buy this book. Believe me.

Summary: the best redwall since the OUTCAST OF REDWALL
Review: When i first saw this book in stores before i knew excactly what redwall was, and turned it down when my mother asked me if i should get it... This book is the crispest story since outcast of redwall (one of my fav's) i really did not know what to expect from this book, really i didn't. i read legend of luke and marlfox afterwards and learned that this book pulled redwall out of the ice! anyways, about the story itself: sorry for my vainess, but i have become a experienced redwall grader, so i will sound like i'm the best of the best a few times. this book is quite an enchantment to the mind. i thought it very interesting to read lord Brocktree's adventures, and i also loved the characters. you know what, i really am mixed up on what to say, so i'll just break these up into paragraphs: 1. Characters: this is always my favourite section! let's see, Dotty the haremaid is one of the must funniest hares to be sure. lord Brocktree could have been more detailed in thoughts a little more, but he was a great character none the less. Brocktree deserves an A for one thing in his character, his fighting scenes! they flipped me out! anyways, the character that really stroked my thoughts was Ungatt Trunn, the wildcat villain. really, i thought he was the best villain in the series of redwall! he really strikes fear in you, his form, evilness, personality. basically he dosen't show much expression but has the most emotion ever! his ways of life interest you like a spider web tweaks a fly's curiosity. that is something to wonder about. his army is the biggest in redwall history, which makes him alot cooler. his genius is just too great! that's about it. 2. Plot: this plot is fresh and interesting. i thought it ingenius for mr. Jacques to put a tournament in the story. i just love a tournament! the rest of the plot was grade B+ for its hard work in how the bad guys try to live and how the good guys try to beat them. 3. pictures: these are the second best redwall series drawings! they have much more detail than anything! i thought they could not be bested until taggerung came out, but oh well. overall: this book really encaptures the soul inheart pounding scenes of gore, romance (not really), and laughter. go on, oick this book up today!

Summary: the first badger lord
Review: Ever since I started reading the Redwall series, I've wanted to know more. I always wanted to hear about the ancient animals, like Luke, Martin, and Lord Brocktree. Well, I'd already got to hear the story of Luke and Martin, but there still wasn't a Brocktree. Then, a couple years ago, like a beacon, this book came out. I picked it up at a [book store] the first time I saw it with money in my pocket. I started reading it at once when I got home, and immediately knew it was of the quality that all Redwall books are made of. As with nearly all Redwall books, there are three plotlines. (I counted #1 and #2 as 2 because they are told form different points of view.) Number One and Two- An old badger lord, Lord Stonepaw is ready to fight his last battle. He is surrounded by a huge army of Blue Hordes lead by the "magical" Ungatt Trunn. The Blue Hordes are plotting an invasion of the badger mountain, Salmandstron, and have good ideas for it. Lord Stonepaw's rabbit army is untrained and also old. It seems they may have no chance. Number Three- Lord Brocktree is a badger who journeys with Dotti, the hare. They travel across the lands of Redwall, meeting up with a poisonous snake, vermin bandits, and countless other evils. The worst, though is self-crowned "King" Bucko, the hare. He challenges Dotti to a test of eating, insulting, and fighting. They Meet- As always, the 3 plotlines, meet in a dramatic and elaborated battle, this time at Salmandstron. I loved this book and higly recommend it. There's just one thing, though, now I have to know about Lord Stonepaw's early life! Wot wot wot!

Summary: Brian Jacques writes another great redwall book!
Review: Lord Brocktree was a very good book, with lots of action, adventure, freindship, humor, and, like all other Brian Jacques' works, you can practicly hear theme music in your head. Whenever I read a book by him, I'm not just reading a book, it's like I'm watching a movie. Everytime I go to read one of his action packed books, I should grab a bowl of popcorn and a soda, because it is exactly like a movie experience. You feel for the characters, and you really dislike the badguys. I can't help but not put his books down. The only problem is that at times the book happens to move slowly, and it is sort of slow paced. But it is still worthy of the purchase and I have a feeling that possibly one day I will re-read this book. If you like adventure or medievil fantasy, this is for you. I used to believe that if and when I ever read any redwall, that I would think it would be goofy and childlike.
That is not the case. These books aren't goofy, and although they are indeed suitable for children, adults can still enjoy these wonderously written books. Brian Jacques has his own magic within his writing, and it is so impressive that I can't wait to read the rest of his series. I am going to read Martin the Warrior and Mattimeo, and I know for a fact that I will probably enjoy those two as much, or more.
I would reccomend this book without a doubt, and it is (For me, anyways) Impossible not to enjoy this book.

Summary: Another Great Redwall book!!
Review: This story is about how the villainous Ungatt Trunn, a menacing wildcat, lays seige to the legendary mountain, Salamandastron. The old Badger Warrior, Lord Stonepaw is completely outnumbered. But there is still hope. Lord Stonepaw sends his one of his old hare friend, Fleetscut, to raise an army for them in the south. Meanwhile, the other young badger lord, Lord Broctree is traveling to Salamandastron. He meets a cheerful hare named Dotti. After some traveling, they meet Fleetscut. Together, they continue to try and raise an army but will be able to do so in time? This story is very,very fun! This is one of my favorites. If you like this, read "Martin the Warrior" or "The Long Patrol". This book deserves more than 5 stars!!
