Rating: Summary: Light, fun, and easy to read Review: "Mates, Dates, and Inflatible Bras" is the first book in the series that follows three friends Izzie, Nesta, and Lucy. This book mainly focuses on Lucy. She's pretty insecure, especially since her best friend in the entire world (Izzie) seems to have a new best friend (Nesta), she has no idea what she wants to do in her future, and she's really short (4 foot eight, I think) and everyone calls her a midget. One day, when Lucy's eccentric health-food store owner dad is driving her to Izzie's house, Lucy spots HIM. Lucy is stricken by this "mystery guy" and soon her and Izzie are on lookout for him, they even hang out by his school.Lucy finds out who the "mystery guy" is - and she can't believe it! She's totally shocked...and embarassed too. At the end of the book, Lucy discovers what she wants to do in her future (though it's pretty obvious), talks to the mystery guy, and also comes to terms with Izzie's new friendship with Nesta. Mates, Dates, and Inflatible Bras is a really good book, and very easy to read. I finished it really quickly, but I plan on getting the next two books in the series. If you liked Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging, you'll love these books too! I highly reccommend this book! Overall Grade - A+
Rating: Summary: Crazy Teenage Years Review: A Review by Johanna In the book Mates Dates and Inflatable Bras Lucy Lovering is going through a very difficult time in her life. Not because of any certain problems but because she 14-years- old and she is learn how to deal with different kinds of situations. Lucy is learning how to deal with the feeling of both loosing friends and making new ones. She is also experiencing feelings she has never had before; those would be the feelings of being in love. Lucy has fallen for a boy and is having to deal with all the feelings of how to act around him, what to say to him, and of course how she can get him to like her back. But the thing is that at the same time Lucy is dealing with being "in love" she feels like her best friend has left her for the new girl. I think that the main reason I liked this book is because I could relate to many of the problems that Lucy was dealing with. I would say that this book is meant for teenage girls, probably more for the early to mid teens. I would defiantly recommend this book to girls my age because I know that they also have to deal with the same problems.
Rating: Summary: Best One Yet Review: Great book. I couldn't put it down!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Good premise, but no delivery. Review: Having read the Louise Rennison books (Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, etc.) I was all set for more hilarity. But other than obvious plot devices and jokes pulled directly from Rennison, it was just a non-entity. Lucy is a 14-year-old girl and does not know what to do with her life (the question was asked as part of a school assignment). She is flat-chested, has hippies for parents (or so she says), and is facing the whole boy scene. As in Rennison's books, she falls for a guy who thinks she might be two young, takes kissing lessons from a guy, even admits to making hammocks our of sanitary pads. Unlike Rennison, the story is told in a first-person narrative and not a diary. Lucy's life is not really crazy enough (or at all) for real laughs and comes out as overall bland. If you are looking for a book that will have you laughing out loud, this is not the one. Even without reading Rennison first, this one just won't deliver.
Rating: Summary: Best Book Ever Review: I love this whole series! This particular book was great though. So these books aren't life-changing or anything, but they're just fun to read. If you want a light read, buy this book. Teenage girls can really relate to Lucy and her friends. Plus, because it's written by an English author they're really funny. These books have a good lesson in the end as well. Have some fun and read all the books in the Mates, Dates Series!

Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down Review: I saw this book on the shelf and thought it looked interesting. When I got it home I couldn't stop reading it and stayed up until 3.30 in the morning cos it was so good and I really liked the character of Lucy. Normally I don't like reading but now I have discovered this book I am going to get the whole series. This book rocks.
Rating: Summary: Good Book! Review: I thought this book was a good book! This book is a fun little teen book (main characters are 14 yrs.) and girls can relate to the characters. Lucy, the main character, is going through some tough times and sometimes she thinks her best friends, Izzie and Nesta, are better than her and she thinks that they're basically flawless. She thinks she is the only one with the problems. But some things work out for her. You'll just have to read the book! It was good. It was nice and short. It'll probably make you want to get the next book after that. :-)
