Summary: Looking for Alibrandi
Review: Josephine Alibrandi thought her life couldn't get any worse after her mother and her grandmother yelled at her for her every wrong move, but she was wrong. Josephine always wanted to become a nun at her school, but she was always into trouble with them. Then her father walks into her life and wants to be apart of it. She doesn't know what to do and just wants time alone.
The best part of "Looking for ALibrandi" was when Josephine's father shows up in her life and she doesn't give him a chance. After a while, Josephine decides to finally give her father a chance. Little did she know, she had a lot in common with her father and they became best of friends.
This is the best part of the book because after Josephine finally gives her father a chance, they both act like he has been in her life since she was born. After Josephine gets into a fight at school and gets sent to the office, her father comes and gets her out of trouble. He also gives her a job at his work and accepts her bew boyfriend named Jacob Coote. Josephine thought that her father would be the perfect dad.
The worst part of the book was when a boy named John Barton had personal problems, and decided to deal with them the wrong way. John Barton's father wasn't as understable as John Barton wanted, so he decided to end his life on earth.
This was the worst part of the book because John Barton made the wrong decison about ending his life over his father. John need to talk to his father, but decided he had a better way of sovling the problems his father brought onto him. John didn't solve the problems, he made them even worse.
Comparing this book to other books, it would have to be one of the best books to read. "Looking for Alibrandi" has a lot of detail and seems exactly like real life. The book teaches teenagers about per-preasure, school, friends, family, and most importantly life.
"Looking for Alibrandi" is an excellent book. I would definetly reccomend this book to people of all ages. If you are into a book about a teenagers life with a little bit of humor, this is the book for you. You can also find out what it is like to be a teenager. This is one of the best books I have ever read.

Summary: The story of Josephines life in Australia
Review: This novel, Looking for Alibrandi, tells the story of Josephine and her complicated life. I liked this book because of the relationship between Alibrandi, her father, and the other boys in her life. It was also interesting because the setting of the book is in Australia and you get to see the differences in life styles. I disliked this book because it didn't have enough action for my taste for one, and the second thing is because it was more of a girl book than a guy book. This book may not rank in my top list of all time favorites, but it was my favorite out of the three novels I have read this summer. I would recommend this particular story to a girl rather then a boy because it is about a girls life so a girl would probably like the book better; but it is still a pretty good book for anyone to read including a guy.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: When I first recieved this book as a present, I was not sure if I would enjoy it. But last summer while travelling I finally read it in the car. And I could abousetly not put it down! Not only is it amazingly written but it is also a very unique and touching. But then again maybe it is my favourite book ever because it is so much like my own life!

Summary: A once-you-pick-up-you-can't-stop book
Review: It was with not many expectations that I finally started on this book. I was in hospital recovering from a major illness and I received this book in a package from a family friend in Australia. I'm 14, just in case you were wondering why this book could have appealed to me. I was in pain, and this book made me forget about my pain for the 3 hours I spent indulging in it.
Josie was such an animated character and so vividly described, I managed to laugh at her antics and cry with her sorrows. Especially when she had to break up with her boyfriend or when a friend of hers committed suicide. On top of that, she has to discover the secret behind her heritage.
I just need to say, it was a great book. I'm looking forward to reading it again.

Summary: REALLY GOOD BOOK!!
Review: i reccomend this book to anyone who is about 12-19. We had to read it for school; and at first, from my teacher's description it sounded boring, but it's probably the best book i've ever read. I'd be really happy to do it again for the HSC. If you have doubts about whether or not you actually want to read it, I guaruntee... AFter reading the first page or two you'll be hooked! it's a pretty realistic book. I reccomend it especially to people who live in Sydney, because they can probably relate to a lot of the things that happen in the book, in terms of multiculturalism. but anyone from anywhere will enjoy it!

Summary: A 'real' book...
Review: This is the best book I've ever read. What I loved about the book was the realness of it. The vocab of the conversations don't bummed you out with words that's too complicated and imaginative that you so often see in other novels. This book uses the normal, everyday vocab that teenagers used. And it also provides a change, the way this book is about a girl of a different cultural descent rather than the average next door girl that just broke up with her boyfriend! It's really deep but it's also entertaining. My favourite line is: "I'm Josephine Andretti who was never an Alibrandi, who should have been a Sandford and who may never be a Coote." This book is a MUST for everyone!!! Read it!!! You'll LOVE it!!!

Summary: Sags Is The Best
Review: being the author of this novel, i feel that this story should have had a bit more suspense..

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Easy to read
Review: Book is easy to read, particularly for teenagers. I have heard Marchetta speak about it, and it amazes me that she herself hadn't done the HSC. I recommend it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a great book!
Review: like many other reviewers, i too had to read this book for school. at first i thought it'd be really boring, like many of the other books ive read for school, but once i started reading it i couldn't stop! i think it's a very real and honest portrayal of a teenager with an italian background living in Australia, who has to not only deal with her 'different' family but also with her friends, boyfriends and school. it really doesnt matter if you're italian or not though, because everybody can relate to josie and all her problems. It's a very funny but also sad book, which left me crying at a lot of parts! so if u havent read it yet, u should do so soon, because i guarentee u'll love it!
