Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: Funny, fullfilled and moving. Something you never expected from Madonna, touching and cheeky at the same time. Perfect for children and even grown up ones.
Rating: Summary: Well done - important life-lessons without being preachy Review: As a children's book author, I've struggled with the challenge of trying to entertain kids while gently educating them at the same time. With her new book, Madonna has succeeded in walking the tightrope of telling a tale with a moral - without being too preachy. The book is doubly powerful by illustrating The Golden Rule of "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You" as well as the timeless maxim, "Count Your Blessings." If we all would only follow these two laws, we would live in a much more peaceful world - and be much more at peace with ourselves. Enough preaching! The illustrations are hip, the packaging is cool, and the book is definitely on my holiday gift list. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series.
Rating: Summary: Pleasant Surprise Review: I thought i should read it before I read it to my kids. I just finished it. I was pleasantly surprised. I admit i was totally skeptical about reading a "madonna" kids book, but it was filled with simple and profound wisdom that applies to both kids and adults. Very impressive. I realized that it's very easy to be a cynic, and to judge others, and to be jealous of others. And anyone -- especially critics -- who find something wrong with this story, well, they simply missed the lesson being imparted. Our egos get in the way, our envy takes control of our hearts, and we add more spiritual darkness in the world instead of contributing a little more light. Great book. Great story. Great lessons! Congratulations Madonna!
Rating: Summary: A Colorful Gem Review: This book is surprisingly funny! Full disclosure: I'm a big Madonna fan, and hoped her first children's book would be good, but was still surprised at how engaging it is. The lush illustrations help bring the story to life, and Madonna writes in a playful style. The English accents are fun; I was smiling the whole time... I'll definitely purchase a copy for my 4 year old goddaughter.
Rating: Summary: I was Surprised Review: I admitt, I have been a Madonna for a long time, and I was gonna get this book no matter what, but after reading it, I was surprised at how good it was. It had a lot more feeling to it that I was expecting. The story is about 4 girls, and how 3 girls make an outcast of this other girl because they are jealous of her. I really felt for this girl. Im still a little surprised because it makes me wonder about Madonna, I think in a lot of ways she is like the girl that is outcast. In anycase, it was definately worth reading, and I think kids will love it. Especially the kids who have no idea who Madonna is.
Rating: Summary: nothing but the best Review: just got my copy and it is really good. honestly i was a little nervous, madge writing childrens books but i am certainly impressed. it is not just for kids as well. the theme of this book certainly transcends the ages and should be enjoyed by all those who read it. madonna, known for her impressive lyrics has authored an impressive book. hopefully this will detain her critics far and wide.
Rating: Summary: The English Roses 10/10 Review: The book is very well written and is an inspirational masterpiece. The book filled with some intimate messages from the author is an all round good read, suitable for a range of ages.
Rating: Summary: Average Review: Average Read. Nothing really good to differentiate it from the better ones out there. Get it if you're curious about all the hype, ignore it if you're looking for a good read.
Rating: Summary: THE BOOK OF THE YEAR Review: THIS BOOK IS TOTALLY GOOD! I BOUGHT IT FOR MY KIDS AND THEY JUST LOVE IT. THE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE EXCELLENT AND THE MESSAGE ITS TOTALLY NECESSARY FOR KIDS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
Rating: Summary: Overpriced rubbish from an old lady Review: I liked how Madonna wanted to give Bill Clinton oral s*x. She is so old now that Clinton would turn her away. This book is a few short pages and a cut and paste job. Avoid.
