I ordered the book for my little sister, and she loves it so much!! I'm finally reading a book for children that is actually teaching them something positive, and how they can trully change the world around them by being nice, and councious of others. Good message, incredible illustrations...

Review: Madonna has done quite a nice job with this book. It teaches an important lesson without condescending to children. The illustrations are superb and nearly as entertaining as the story itself. I am now looking forward to her next 4 books.

Review: I just wanna say that this book is so cute! I bought it today (being the huge Madonna fan I am) and its just lovely. The illustrations are just unbelievable, they are fabulous, cutest thing I have ever seen. As for the actual story itself I found it quite refreshing, that it about understanding and opening your heart and thinking about why we judge people so easily and cruelly. Instead of the usual fairy princess who falls in love etc. Some people may have objections with Madonna writing children's books because of her past but they need to get over it. People change, its be over 10 years since her Erotica era so give her a break. Haven't you changed a lot within the last 10 years. Kids (young and old) will love this book. Do yourself a favor and pick one up!

Review: AS A CHILD CARE TEACHER OF MANY YEARS, I FOUND THIS BOOK BORING TO READ AND CHILDREN'S IMAGINATIONS WERE NOT STIMULATED BY IT AT ALL. HER FIRST BOOK HAD BETTER PICTURES AND PERHAPS REVEALED THE TRUE INNER WORKINGS OF THE AUTHOR'S INSPIRATIONS AND MOTIVATIONS. MADONNA SHOULD STICK WITH WHAT SHE DOES BEST . . . MAKING MOVIES.

Review: I'm so happy that I'll be able to share Madonna with my children. We bought the book today and they love the story, so do I. The tale is about stamping out negative feelings in children rather than a princess being saved. How great that the book is fun, enjoyable and educational. Madonna again is a genius.

Review: My first thoughts when I heard Madonna was going to write a children's book were sketchy. "But, she's a pop star. How can she write a children's book?" The more I thought about it though, I realized, why not Madonna? She is an artist, and it is proven once again in, The English Roses. This book truly meant something to me. The life lesson she teaches is so valuable. From one humanist to another, I comend you on an amazing accomplishment Madonna! To everyone else, read The English Roses.

Review: I'm not a HUGE Madonna fan but I was VERY curious how she'd pull this off so I read it the day it came out. TER held my attention from page to page and can b related to on several diff. age levels. The ending really made me think. Madonna, BRAVO!

...there is nothing genius abt Potter or Cinderella or Famous Five or the even more ludicrous Noddy or Thomas the Tank Engine. These are childrens books. Simplicity is the name of the game and Madonna achieved that perfectly. As an adult I enjoyed the book.
Its an excellent childrens book with a moral tale and kids especially little girls will love the pictures..even I loved the moral lesson cos every age can Identify with it.I agree with Madonna..childrens books these days are all abt adventure and toys etc.. gone are the days of moral lessons..and this is an excellent moralistic tale.
