Summary: A fun way to start bonding with your baby before birth!
Review: Every night before bed, my husband would read this book to our baby. Not only was it fun to read but it gave my husband a chance to bond with the baby. Plus, it was great practice to start reading to our baby. Dr. Seuss books are classics!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Read to Baby in Utero
Review: I bought this to read to my baby in Utero. I didn't read each day but tried to read to the baby a few times a week. My baby daughter is now 7 months old, I haven't read this to her in a very long time but when she was a tiny baby and she was fussy I'd read it to her, it seemed to calm her down and at times would put her to sleep. I'm hoping that me reading this to her in Utero is the reason it calmed her.

I have found that I don't care for Dr Suess as much as I thought I did as a kid, his wording is complicated. I bought several other books and am disappointed in them.

Summary: Oh, Baby, the Places You'll Go!
Review: I love The Places You'll Go! and when I saw this book, I grabbed it for my daughter in law. I believe reading to a child is one of the most important things that can be done to prepare them for what lies ahead. What a great way to begin, while still in Utero. The sound of a familar voice and the beginning of a special time between child and parent (or grandparen't, sibling, etc.) that will hopefully continue through their life. I don't always care for Dr. Seuss, but this is a book that speaks from the heart. The book is smaller than most, but then it's for in Utero!

Summary: Fantastic as well as emotional!
Review: I received this book as a gift from a coworker when I was about 4 months pregnant. I have read it almost daily to my unborn child and I love the feeling it gives me to read it and know that my child is listening! I am almost 6 months pregnant, and with the baby kicking me constantly, I am reminded that he wants to hear his favorite book! I love the creativity within this book, the emotions it brings while reading it, and the idea that my child is reading already! It isn't expensive nor does it take all day to read. Highly recommended!

Summary: The best gift you can give expecting parents
Review: I received this book with my first pregnancy and have since given it to every single pregnant friend I know (I buy several at a time and save on shipping.) It is funny, perfectly Dr. Seuss, and fun to read to your thumping belly. Best of all, it is small, colorful, and embodies all the joy and anticipation you feel as you wait on your baby. And because it is Seuss, your older children can read it to their sibling-to-be.

Summary: By "Cat in the Hat" instead
Review: I was disappointed when I received this in the mail.
I expected this book to be bigger (it is about 2x4) for one and refer to the baby more. Instead, it refers to characters in Dr. Suess books.
Also, this isn't a book I would pick up and read after the baby is born. I would rather read books out loud that I am more likely to continue to read to the baby when it is born, that is benefit to reading in utero anyway.
This is a cute "basket" gift for a shower, but if you are looking for a book to connect with your baby, I would pass on "Oh baby.."

Summary: A book for the whole family
Review: My husband read this book to our baby in utero during my first pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my second child, we read the book as a family to the new baby. My toddler loves the book and loved reading it to her new baby. This book has become a bedtime favorite.

Summary: A Great Gift!
Review: My mom and I were trying to find a few gifts to give my pregnant sister before she had her baby shower, and when I saw this book, I knew she'd love it. And I was right! She's been reading the book to her soon-to-be baby boy ever since. A real treat for any woman expecting who grew up with Dr. Seuss' books. Don't pass this one up!

Summary: A Must-Have Primer to Dr. Seuss' Fanciful World
Review: My mother gave me this book when I was pregnant with my first child. My husband and I read it frequently to our son (now 3) in utero. I have since purchased it for every expectant parent I know. If you love Dr. Suess, and are expecting, you must have this book.

The book is a short compilation of Dr. Suess favorites. It introduces the newcomer to all the imaginative characters of Dr. Seuss' creative mind. It's also great practice for parents-to-be to get back into the swing of reading aloud. The beauty of the book is in its rhythm and rhyming, which captivate the developing mind of a child. Our son who was read this book in utero is now a book fanatic and constantly makes up rhyming words. I believe this is a direct result of his exposure to this and other Seuss books.
