Summary: Great Refresher for the Experienced Network Professional
Review: All books of the Passport series are geared tword the experienced user who needs a refresher book just before a test. That said, I do not recommend this book for beginners or those that have little production experience with networks.

Things I liked about this book

1) Helped me pass the exam with flying colors!!!
2) Short concise chapters that can be read in about an hour.
3) Important facts organized in easy to read tables
4) Tips about what is and isn't required knowledge for the test
5) End of chapter questions

Things I did not like about the book

1) Travel theme adds nothing to the readability of the book
2) Some important networking configuration issues are glossed over. Apple, Unix, and Netware only mentioned in passing.
3) practic questions in the book and on the provided practic test program are too easy compared to the question you will recieve on the exam.
4) Some spelling errors and other errors.

Agian, this book is not for the beginner but for those who have spent at least 12 months as a network technician. Additionally, you will want to search for some better practice questions than what is provided with the book; just do a search for "Comptia free exams" at your favorite search engine. Be sure to find questions for the N02 exam and not the older version.

Summary: you can pass, just know the stuff
Review: Burger.....what possesed you to think that the network+ exam would help you with web pages. do you think being able to wire up a cat 5 or enviornmental issues for servers would do it. Buddy you seriously need to apply yourself...get an HTML book for dummies-highly recommended in your case.

As for the book, correct it is an abbreviated version designed for 1 thing to pass the exams...look CompTIA will never make you a network admin or an engineer it just gives you the foundation. This book will get the job done-period.

Summary: Meyers once again delivers quality certification material.
Review: CompTia has revised the Network+ exam to try and stay up with the latest in network and networking technology. In looking at the exam this book is the final piece to the certification puzzle.

Understanding that this book should be used to concentrate on the major points or objectives, it makes the perfect companion to the All-In-One Study guide.

In 384 pages Meyers' once again shows why he is one of the most respected names in the certification arena today.

From a great breakdown of the OSI model to network hardware and media to topologies, standards and protocols, Meyers lays out a track to certification success.

Making sure that you can understand the concepts there is review questions at the end of each chapter as well as exam tips and tricks throughout the book.

Finally there is a cd included with practice exam software from ExamWeb which gives you the opportunity to practice before going live. Overall this is a great add-on study tool and should make the final preparation easier.

Summary: Very bad book....
Review: I am head burger flipper at Mcdonalds and I am trying to change fields. I took this book hopping it would help me get my Network+ certification so I could design webpages(maybe for Mcdonalds) Boy oh boy was I wrong. I didn't understand a single thing they were talking about. I still can't make a homepage for myself. And when I went in for the test I didnt have a clue about any of it. To complex and they don't explain anything. And why in the world did they make the book so big? I mean come on does it really take three hundred pages to learn the network+ stuff? I think they could have done it in less then 100 pages if they really tried. This is book is good for nothing but a paper weight. Mike Meyers get a clue and learn about the stuff you are writing about before you write a wildly popular book on the subject.

Summary: Solid Prep
Review: I bought this book, along with the Network+ Cert Bible and passed the test with no problem. This book does a great job of going over the basics and prepping you for what's on the exam. BUT if you don't have experience in the field, I'd recommend also purchasing the Network + Cert Bible or another comparible book. Meyers is a great author and like his other books, this is an easy, entertaining read. The software included is solid, and will give you an idea of the questions you'll see on the exam.

Summary: This book is as good as you make it
Review: I don't know about Mr. Burger Flipper, but if you work in the IT field and simply read the book and study, and do hands on tasks from the book such as TRACERT, ARP, NBTSTAT, and many others and get to understand what they do, you will pass the Net+ exam. I've had 6 total months of networking experience and just passed the exam on my first attempt with only this book and online braindumps located at .... Do not listen to ignorant individuals such as the burger flipper who think that getting the Network+ certification will enable you to create webpages. Keep working at Mickey D's.

Summary: Mike Meyers' Network+ Certification Passport
Review: I have purchased this book because I have heard from friends that this book has the 2002 objectives and is the most recent book for Network+. I also have read some of the pages and I really liked the material that is included on this book. I also hope that this book is easy to read and understand.

Summary: Network+ Passport
Review: I learned a lot and I passed thanks to this book. I love the travel theme, and it doesn't hurt that this is one of the lowest priced comprehensive Network+ books out there. On top of that, Mike and Nigel personally answered my question that I emailed to them. Thank you!

Summary: Another Win For Mr. Meyers
Review: Mike has made it even easier to get the cerifications yet again. This book is a quick and easy read for all the computer nerds and it makes things easier. Everything in this book was in the practice exam I took and i passed it with flying colors. He goes in to detail about Bus Topologies and Ethernet all of witch I will be using. He also does a good job of describing the seven OSI layers. Which i know that can get confusing. The check points at the end of each chatper are easy and a great way to check how much you abosrbed though the reading. Also it tells you what you need to go over again. I kind of wish he went in to more detail of fiber but there weren't many fiber qestions on the test. He also included a CD in the copy i got that had all the exam questions on it. This is truely a good book and a must if you need to pass the nework+ exam quikly. The hardware over view is a dry part of the book but there isn't a lot Mike can do about that. He also included a index in the back of the book for a quick find for what your looking for. If your taking the test or just want to know more about network I suggest this book to anyone. It's cheep and it's a good resourse if you for get something.
