Review: I like the way the authors write this book. Some readers may treat it as a reference book, but I would say it is more than that. before I had this book, I knew nothing about VFP. Using this book along my software development, I built a complicated database for a law firm. Even though I do not touch VFP anymore, I still love this book. It really helps me understand how VFP works. I wish other authors would write reference books like this. For those folks who want to be VFP developers, buy it!

Summary: While a good reference book, not for learning VFP
Review: I purchased this book with the idea that it had EVERYTHING you needed to know in using Visual FoxPro 6.0. It turned out to be a language reference guide. Forms design, etc. are not covered by this book. I would only recommend buying this book if you are already a "hardened" FoxPro programmer.

Review: It is a "must" have book for every serious VFP programmers who wanted to go in depth. It have lots of fun reading this book but gives a real and wider sense of what Visual and OOP programming means.

Review: My copy has become dogeared from all the use! It is essential for the serious programmer. My only complaint is it's weight and size. I use this book daily!

Review: Rip the first few chapters out of this book and it is a pretty good reference book. However, before figuring out that this is ONLY a reference book the reader must suffer through 150 pages of ridiculous "dummies" book snippets. I tend to read my new technical books front to back the first time. But I came very close to dropping this book in the trash before I realized there was worthwhile material behind the first three chapters of dribble. If you're trying to learn FoxPro, buy something else!

Review: Stop banging your head against VFP infelicities! This book represents a phenomenal investment in time and effort by Tamar and Ted that you dont have to repeat. Pays for itself the first time you use it!

Review: The .CHM file that is downloadable after purchase of the book - is excellent. The book is one of the best and most fun to read. I have been reading Fox books since the first ones published. This ranks as one of the best.

Summary: If you use VFP 6, you need this book
Review: The authors say "This book is not a replacement for the online help or the Language Reference Manual." But when things don't work the way the manual says they should, or the manual is unclear, this book is a great place to start looking. I would rather give up the Language Reference Manual than this book.
