Summary: This is THE book for Mac users
Review: This is one fabulous book. The book is worth reading cover to cover just for the excellent writing. It has the most secrets and tips anywhere, and as an added bonus, you get a glimpse of how a computer works in layman's terms.

Summary: The Perfect Manual
Review: This is one of the most practical manuals I've ever used. Apple should be shipping this book with every Mac it sells. It doesn't just provide technical information. It also provides a lot of background and "inside scoops" that make this an interesting read - even when your Mac is running problem free. I found myself reading this book out of interest. Case in point; the Fonts chapter, the "secrets", and all the little stories interspersed throughout the book. When I did encounter a problem there always seemed to be an answer. So much for Apple's online help. I would recommend this to anyone owning or even considering buying a Mac. You won't be wasting a cent.

Summary: THIS BOOK SHOULD SHIP WITH EVERY NEW MAC
Review: Yes, it's THAT good. I've read the Mac Bible, The Mac is Not a Typewriter, and Sad Macs, Bombs, and Disasters. While each of the aforementioned books are worthy in their own right, I felt that Macworld Mac Secrets was simply the most comprehensive, covered the most useful subjects, and of course, had the best STUFF on the CD. I used the 2nd edition on a fairly regular basis with my old Performa 6100, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use this current edition. As a matter of fact, I plan on buying the NEXT edition when IT hits the shelves next month. There is some useless trivia (like what note each Mac starts up in) which I could have done without, but, on the whole, this is a very thorough reference that no Mac user should be without.
