Summary: CD alone worth the price of the book
Review: The book seems excellent but what I'm really excited about is the CD training enclosed with the book. Judging past experience I wasn't expecting the training on the CD to be very good. I was completely surprised in this case. Libby Schwarz is excellent in her presentation of material and the CBT video and screen captures are 1st rate. The CD training is worth a lot more than the price of the book. The CD only includes the first session which is about 1hr 40 minutes and it serves as a very good intro. to the admin. client. The rest (14 more) you have to purchase from LearnKey. (See the page in the back of the book as it offers a 15% discount.) There are 5 sessions for each test (520, 521 and 522) 15 total. Only the 1st 5 sessions are available on CD the remaining 10 are video tapes. Each CD based session has a set of interactive challenges that run you through Domino admin. tasks using Domino Admin screens and practice tests. I was hoping all would be in CD format for the challenges and tests but I suspect the video will still be well done.

To conclude the 1st session was impressive enough that I ordered the whole set today. Note too, I'd choose this training over live training it is just that well done.

Summary: NO Principal Exam coverage
Review: The material in the book for exam 522 had lots of grammatical errors that made it difficult to read. It appeard to me as if a different author or proofreader was used for the exam 522 material than for the exam 520 and 521 material. For exam 522 the book was very unclear on many areas of workstation and client security, configuration and setup. I would suggest complimenting this book with Domino System Security by Rob Kirkland. I bought both books and used both for exam 522 and passed.

Summary: Very good book for exams 520,521 but poor book for exam 522

Summary: Not For the Casual User
Review: This book is a very detailed examination of Domino R5, with emphasis on Administration and Application Development. It is a great STUDY GUIDE but is not particularly useful for someone with no experience wanting to get into these subjects. You must have some background in the subject to get any use out of this book. That said, I have used this as my prime study reference to earn a CLP as a developer. Two down, one to go.

Summary: Very complete
Review: This book is the only that covers six exams. That's the reason why is very big...but very good too. When you study for one of six exams, sometimes you need to search for something of another exam to have a better view of it, this book is the best for it. It not covers all the things you must know to pass all exams, but it explains the most important aspects with a lot of details and practises. It contains a great questions CD too. The only bad thing is that sometimes they are explainig not very important things using 2 or 3 pages but...if you want to know Lotus more than the exam is it a good thing too.

Summary: Great book to prepare for the Lotus 520 exam
Review: This is the only book I used to study and pass (85%) the Lotus Notes 520 exam. This was my second exam and this book is great for the Lotus Notes 520 and 521 exams. I would suggest taking 521 first and then 520. I did not find any errors in the book and I did not use the CD-ROM to help in preparing for either exam. The 520 exam was more difficult than the 521 exam. Exam 520 Part I and Exam 521 Part II did not have any errors that I found. Great book - worth the price.

Summary: Lack of soft copy
Review: Unlike other certification study guide, this book does not include a soft copy (pdf) in the CD-ROM. It's slower my learning process because I can't read the soft copy when I'm in office (reading a hard copy for weeks is not appropriate in work place).

But I have no doubt that the book is very practical and useful. It guides me what chapters cover what exams so that I have a schedule to write the exams.
