Rating: Summary: Excellent learning material Review: This book's purpose is to provide a basic understanding of how to develop SAP applications, and it does that. I think this is overall the best book on the market for learning to write programs in SAP. It covered all of the subjects I was looking for, including GUIs, screens and screen objects, menus, help info, standard dialogs, and various interfaces. However, because of its broad scope, its detail is limited.
Rating: Summary: Comprehensive Guide on ABAP/4 Review: This is a comprehensive guide on all the ins and outs of programming in ABAP/4. By the time you finish this book you
should be able to develop commercial quality programs using
ABAP/4.
Rating: Summary: A good intro; and it covers dialog programming. Review: This is a good introduction to ABAP/4 programming, if you have experience programming in another language. For me, the main advantage of this book is that it covers dialog programming (creating interactive screens for users). Other ABAP/4 intro books that I've seend cover only SAP reporting. The chapters on dialog programming are very good. However, if you are just beginning with ABAP/4, I recommend SAMs Teach Yourself ABAP/4 in 21 Days by Ken Greenwood -- it has a more step-by-step approach, and goes into more detail on tables. Better yet, get both books.
Rating: Summary: Excellent training tool Review: This is the book handed out to all new ABAP developers by SAP at the training site in Cleveland. It is an excellent way to get started with R/3 if you have reporting, interfacing and conversion requirements. It does not go into detail on SapScript however. Disregarding this little fact it is an excellent training tool and a must for a developers bookshelf.
