Rating: Summary: This is by far the best trueSpace book you can buy. WOW! Review: I read a many books about modeling and animating with Truespace and this book is tops in my book. The Author uses clear and easy to understand language. It has many tutorials that take you step by step to high end animating and modeling. It even gives you tips on planning. The only advise i can give to you about this book is BUY IT.
Rating: Summary: Very good Review: I really liked this book. As long as you are familiar with truespace this book will be very helpful. The only problem is that it covers a lot of info in a very short time. It covers many different modeling techniques and the tutorials come out to be only a couple pages long. If you can get over that it will be a great referance for you.
Rating: Summary: Best Truespace 4 book there is, period. Review: I would give it 10 stars if I could. Pros: Couldn't find ANY typing errors. Extremely well explained. 100s of tips and secrets which would of took you years or never to find out. Cons: not for beginners just going into 3d. other: BUY IT!
Rating: Summary: Such a great book Review: I've been using a copy of this book, "Inside TrueSpace 4," through my courses at a local technical center. I just purchased the TrueSpace 4 program and just boaught a copy of your book for myself. I think frank needs a big thank you for taking the time to create such a great and helpful book. The creative way in which he teaches is usually very hard to come by in these types of books, but he captures my interest and my creative juices very well in the fun way he has written this book. Sincerely, Trent Gudmundsen Vernal, UT

Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I've read all the reviews you are reading now. After a careful comparision with other trueSpace books, I bought this one, and at the same time I bought Inside Softimage. These two books are among the best books I've ever read. You will learn a great number of skills. There are a lot of great illustrations that will help you go through each step. More than that, you will learn what the Pros know. If you really want to learn trueSpace, buy this book.
Rating: Summary: A production guide for the beginner to advanced user. Review: Inside trueSpace is not another manual, instead, it is the production guide to visualizing, modeling, surfacing and animating in trueSpace3.x and trueSpace4. Here are some of the questions you will find answered between the covers of Inside trueSpace. How to model characters. How to model complete humanoids with metaballs. How to use bones to animate inanimate objects and characters. How to light a scene effectively. What makes a great surface texture. How to create and collect your own textures. How to create dramatic atmospheric and special effects. How to create a short film and where to start. How to manage complex scenes. How to get a cinematographer's look to the work you create in trueSpace. What are your rendering options. How to use the keyframe editor productively. What's radiosity and how do you get good results with it. How to create your own 3D media studio. What are NURBS and how to model objects with NURBS. The answers to these questions and more can be found Inside trueSpace. We have included the actual scenes, objects and textures used in the lessons for your exploration and review. Plus, an appendix filled with surface formulas, over 40 pages covering bones, a 35 page comprehensive glossary of industry terms, 32 color panels. On the CD you will find over 300 LOGICBit textures, a game created with trueSpace, the hottest and most productive plug-ins, animated fire and explosions from Artbeats, Marlin Studio textures, artwork and so much more. Inside trueSpace is a book written for the trueSpace community by members you know and trust. All the authors involved are well known, not only for their skill but more importantly, for the free time and advise they have given over the years to help the product and the trueSpace community grow. Inside trueSpace is an inside look at how Frank Rivera, Terry Cotant, Arnold Gallardo, Tom Marlin, E.W. Swan, Jeff Wall, Oliver Zeller and Alain Bellon get things done in trueSpace. Forward by Caligari CEO Roman Ormandy, technical editing by Alain Bellon.
Rating: Summary: An essential buy for all trueSpace4 users! Review: Inside trueSpace4 maintains the superb quality of the Inside series. Frank Rivera and his co-authors have managed to pack this volume with a lot that is useful and interesting, to both new users and trueSpace veterens. One minor suggestion would have been to duplicate the screenshots used in the book, on the CD as a couple don't make their intended point clearly in when shown in black and white.
Rating: Summary: The only book a trueSpace4 user needs Review: Many users of trueSpace4 are not 3D graphics professionals, and will find that this book will be a most helpful resource. While requiring understanding of the basics of the software, more advanced features are expertly covered and demonstrated with tutorials. The book is not just a technical manual, but a great guide to trueSpace4 and 3D modeling in general; moreover it contains several elements relating to the artistic design side of 3D graphics. If you use trueSpace4, this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: In a word? Review: Outstanding!!!!!!!!! The tutorials are thorough and cover complex subjects. Unlike other CGI books the examples and illustrations are tops. It's obvious the writers know how to create top notch work with the tools. A must have IMHO.
