Rating: Summary: You're Nuts... Review: ...if you don't get this book. Final Cut is a VERY comprehensive program so if you want to get started right away, get this book. Very well organized so you can find just what you need and very well written so you can make it all work.
Rating: Summary: Don't Edit Without it! Review: A wonderfully comprehensive index helps one go back and find that special tool or effect you're looking for and how to implement it. One reviewer criticized, and said this book requires you already have a basic knowledge of non-linear editing; if you aren't a serious editor and already have some knowledge of the basics, you shouldn't even be thinking about Final Cut Pro. That being said, this book is a fabulous tool that I have parked by my G 4 to help me "remember" what I learned two months earlier the last time I used FCP. A huge asset!

Rating: Summary: I really wanted to like this book Review: After all, it's the only one, and lord knows I need the help. Alas, the book is caught in a catch-22. If you're good at video editing, you don't need a book, just a quick manual to show you where the buttons are. But if you're not already good at editing, this book won't help you. The author assumes you know what terms like "scrubbing" mean, and like most awful computer books, doesn't speak with a real voice. Instead, it's a muscle bound manual that will frustrate you more than it will help. Sigh. Anyone working on a true tutorial?
Rating: Summary: Terrible book for Beginners.. or even anyone! Review: All I wanted was to quickly find out how to view my video on screen. this is a simple task in IMovie. The book spends lots of time on editing. How about explaining how to view the video and select which parts to keep and which to eliminate? Frustrating experience. this is the first Peachtree book that truly disappointed me.

Rating: Summary: Terrible book for Beginners.. or even anyone! Review: As a beginner, I could not learn anything from this book. Everything seems to be jumbled together along with off the wall pictures of a woman doing yoga! I'm trying hard to figure out the audios, but this book does not give me enough (or any!) detail how to edit audio. Yes, I saw the author. No, I did not buy her 2nd book. I don't plan to look at that either!
Rating: Summary: "THE" Final Cut Manual Review: Excellent book - Apple's manual is totally backward with most of its information. Brenneis got it all right - a must have book... mine's been dog-ear'd since November!
Rating: Summary: Great Tool Review: Final Cut Pro - Visual Quickpro is well organized and easy to read. It's organized as a reference book, so it's easy to get help while I'm working with the program. Great job.
Rating: Summary: Doesn't cover the bugs Review: I teach Final Cut Pro at United Digital Artists (UDA.com) in New York City and this is the book that we give to all of our students. It is an excellent reference guide and by my side when I edit. BUT Final Cut Pro 2.0 has just been released and it comes with a 1400 page manual. I look forward to Lisa's revision.
