Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I passed with an 813
Review: This is an excellent book, it is the only one used by the University of New Mexico's Continuing Education Network + class. There are some gaps (i.e., Brouter, Port 10 on a router?, etc.), but that is to be expected when you only choose one source to study from. It has an excellent TCP/IP chapter, and covers the OSI model very well. It is also a quick read, and very understandable.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Clearly presented but many errors.
Review: Today, I have passed with ease the Network+ Exam using this book for my ONLY study material. But I would recommend to use another books for the studying material especially for those who do not have a strong foundation or experience on networking.

Strength of this book:

1. This books is easy to read and understand, concepts are usually clearly. The 7 layers is well -presented.

2. The poster of OSI Seven-layer Model is really nice and useful.

Weakness of this book:

1. Obviously, this book do not well-proofreaded. Some errors were found.

p.63 : 5-4-3 rule is 5 segments, 4 repeaters ...

p.76 and 387 : Max. length of 1000BaseFX is 2000m

p.11 Figure 1.8 MAC addresses of B & D is incorrect

Some other very minor mistakes were found.

2. The question is far too simple and the format is not very similar to the question in the real exam.

3. Environmental impacts on network is totally missing which is tested in the exam.

Summary: Easy to read AND understandable!
Review: Wow! Michael Meyers' (et al) "Network + All In One Certification: Exam Guide" is truly an easy-to-read, common sense book! It's entertaining and well written. It has great graphics and great questions. Once again Mr. Meyers graces us with his pure genius writing skills. It's a delight to read a techno-computer book by an author who not only knows his material, but who can actually write. Wonder of wonders! I wish I could give it 6 stars.

Summary: The book that allowed me to pass the exam!
Review: You open the cover and you'll find a poster that breaks down the OSI model, from there you'll be lead into a world of information that will make obtaining you Net+ certification a snap.

With a nice and easy breakdown, set by the COMPTIA standard, the book details the complexity of the Network+ Certification. Followed up by end of chapter Q & A you have everything you need.

Don't be fooled by the 450 page book, sometimes smaller is better. Additionally the book includes a fairly detailed and complete glossary to make their terminology easier to grasp. Meyers knows his stuff!

Meyers includes a cd-rom with practice exams for prep testing and allows the user to go online to order more questions. The price, which will vary, is a small price to pay for quality and this book is quality.
