Summary: Getting Attention by Susan Kohl, just what I was looking for
Review: I have been studying for a Webmaster's Certification for the past several months. I've learned HTML, Java Script, CSS and more. What I want to ultimately do is provide a service over the Internet. I have found all kinds of resources for learning how to code. But, knowing how to build a website doesn't ensure success. One of the other students in my online class told me about this book. I bought the book and am very pleased with the purchase. It gives a brief history of PR over the 20th Century, which helped me understand the evolution taking place. But, more importantly, it provided me with the information I need to take what I've learned about building websites and make it a successful business. I would recommend this book highly to anyone who has the desire to jump on the "information highway" in a profitable way.

Summary: Internet World November Cover Story " 7 Steps to Great PR"
Review: I just found out about "Getting Attention" in the November issue of Internet World, ordered the book, and finished it over the weekend.

Great book filled with tips for low cost effective PR campaigns and relevant industry case studies.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to become more effective in Public Relations. "Getting Attention" should be considered the first step in "Seven Steps to Great PR"

Summary: Great practical information
Review: I thought this book was particularly helpful in planting seeds or sparking new ideas for using technology. I thought there was great value in the case studies. For example - how the Mirage Hotels in Las Vegas used permission based marketing to increase sales or the innovative ways Metricom used its wireless technology when it didn't have any advertising budget. The NASA and SeaWorld San Diego examples were also great. I like how the author did not concentrate solely on high tech companies using high tech methods. She used a lot of mainstream companies and organizations for examples, which was particularly helpful to me as I am not in the high tech sector.

The author has done a thorough job with this book and I keep referring back to it as a reference. I give it five stars.

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: If you are in PR, this is a must buy book. Just the chapter on free stuff and other resources is worth hundreds of dollars. I am buying copies for all my staff and making my PR students buy it as well. They will thank me (but Susan Kohl deserves the kudos).--Henry DeVries, President, Henry DeVries/Communications

Review: Loved it! It's really tough to be a new artist these days, you know? Like, getting people to talk about you and buy you...it's like you have to be known to get known.

I used Kohl and Levine's Guerilla PR: wired to help me get some buzz, you know? Fantastic stuff! Really cheap to do this stuff!
