Rating: Summary: essential CorelDRAW book Review: This book and "CorelDRAW F/X are essential for users of the program. I can't really add anything to the reviews out there except "Amen"
Rating: Summary: Informative and entertaining Review: This book both teaches and entertains. The lessons consist of a series of succinct easy to follow steps that are suitable for both beginners and experienced users. My favorite parts are the sections entitled "Variations on a Theme" in which the authors suggest shortcuts and enhancements to the basic lessons. After reading these I had the tools and techniques to create my own designs. The "Notes" and "Tips" are useful too, and reflect the authors' deep experience in using all versions of Corel Draw and Corel Paint. And there is quite a bit of sly humor in the text and the sample designs.
Rating: Summary: As always, excellent! Review: This book is so beautiful it borders on being an art book as well as an instructional book. Gary Preister and David Huss have done an excellent job on all the different effects you can do with Corel and Corel Photopaint. Very inspiring!
Rating: Summary: Huss's better half Review: When Huss suggested that we team up to write this book I said I would only be interested if we could break new ground and get away from the basic stuff and concentrate on practical, professional level projects, as there are no books of this type.I'm pleased to say that Osborne and Corel Press were willing to meet these requirements and gave Huss and me the freedom to do the kind of book that we both wanted to write. And, unlike most books which are edited to read as though they'd been written by a dis-embodied robot, Huss and I were encouraged to write in our own voices--albeit a bit corny. The book is printed entirely in color, and thanks to the tireless efforts of our copy editor and technical editor, the projects are reasonable easy to complete. I hope you enjoy and learn from our book. If you have any questions or comments fire away at themook@slip.net
