Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Smart day Trading
Review: Exceptional "how-to" introduction to Small Order Execution System as basis for informed trading that bypasses the brokers' fees and spreads, improves odds for favorable trades, and instills trading discipline to minimize losses. Many practical insights to enhance success. Heart of the book is the explanation of a "Trading Screen" that allows monitoring of market action for up to four stocks; includes price/volume charts and bid/ask quotes from market makers. (Reader can ignore occasional hype for writers' services.) Includes a short primer on technical analysis to alert day trader to what prompts technicians to move in or out of stocks. A worthwhile investment of time for the novice considering serious trading as a major source of income.

Summary: Light at the end of the tunnel
Review: Finally, an actuall sense of hope. These guys are great, truly on your side when it comes to daytrading. Their positive attitude and strategy come through in their words. With in the first chapter I read how they spoke of "Freedom" and knew they were speaking my language. I do not want to be traped in a building working for 8 hours a day 5 days a week for much longer. Missing out on all those beautiful sunshined days bothers me. With the information I have learned in this book,I truly believe I will not have to go to work much longer. This book is truly worth it. I sincerly thank the authors for writing it.

Summary: 99 Answers for New Traders
Review: I am not only a Direct Access Trader, utilizing the strategy of Day Trading; I also own a Branch office where customers come to trade. I highly recommend this book for new traders, or people who are just beginning to be interested in the strategy of day trading. We have a short list of books, which we recommend to clients, and this is on my top 10 list for new clients.

This book good for an intermediate trader, or someone shopping around, it explains general terms and how the market works.

This would not be the most helpful book for practicing direct access traders, but it is an excellent book for a new comer.

Summary: Don't Believe the Hype
Review: I couldn't believe this book received more than 4 stars. Or 2 stars for that matter, which I think it warrants.
Yes, it provides a good overall picture of what day-trading is and would be a superb book for the beginning practitioners who wants a better picture of the background of day-trading. But if you're looking for trading ideas and strategies, my advice is to skip this book. The chapter on technical analysis is flawed. There were a variety of charts which looked good on paper, but that was with the benefit of hindsight. In practice those analysis would never have been possible.
There's too much at risk if you put your money on the line using the trading ideas here.

Summary: A "MUST" Read!
Review: I found it quite "coincidental" that a negativelyslanted report on the "evils" of day trading just"happened" to be released within a week after the Atlanta tragedy. Why, someone more cynical than myself might conclude that the report's release was specifically held up until just such an event in an attempt to provide a double body blow to day trading. I wonder who might benefit from this?? Although I am only an infrequent online trader at present, I was curious enough to obtain a copy of "Electronic Day trading to Win," and read it. Based on media reports, I should have expected to find crass hucksters promising a sure-fire way to instant riches without having to lift so much as a finger by way of preparation and training. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to see the need for proper training hammered home over and over again throughout the book. I felt that Baird and McBurney would personally come and rap my knuckles with a ruler if I even thought of trying to day trade before I knew exactly what I was doing! Their recommendation of one to two months of paper trading before actual trading seemed very appropriate. Following that, the new trader is advised to trade with a small account, so that little buffer for error exists and the new day trader doesn't get slack. Given these rules, the worst possible scenario for any day trader is that they lose their entire small account. But since Baird and McBurney state that this account should be risk capital and not essential life savings, it's difficult to see how any of the horror stories hyped in the media could ever happen to anyone -- unless they tried day trading without the proper educational foundation first! The moral to this story is that anyone fancying himself or herself as a day trader MUST read "Electronic Day Trading to Win." END

Summary: What a Gem!
Review: I found this book to be a very interesting and informative read! A quick page turner chock full of valuable information, so take notes, and read over and over! Baird and McBurney took what is a very foggy subject for me, 'Day Trading', and presented a very clear picture from beginning to end! Especially valuable to me was the chapter which was devoted to explaining and showing the most effective way to set up your intra-day trading screen. What a huge time saver! With so many screen options, you can fall victim to information overload, and this chapter just simplified that for me, and probably has saved me weeks of trial and error (not to mention expensive mistakes!) That chapter alone was worth more than the price of the book! Also, these guys provide you with many different intra-day trading strategies, which I found fascinating! Need I say more! GET THIS BOOK!

Summary: Electronic Day Trading To Win
Review: I have yet to put the "teachings" of the book to practical use. Therefore, my comments extend only as far as the theoretical is concerned: This is very entertaining reading. I went through it twice and enjoyed it both times. The book generated a measure of optimism in me that I might make some money at this. I recommend to take a "long position" in this publication.

Summary: I LIKE THE HELL OUTTA IT!
Review: I highly recommend this book. I have read several other books about day trading but they weren't nearly as informational nor as enjoyable as this one. This book gives as step by step introduction and setup on how to turn the stock market from high risk to high probability. I have made steady, and consistent profits using the software and strategies this book has to offer. I have friends who have done day trading for a long time and they have been overwhelmed by the revolutionary strategies in this book. A MUST for anyone trying to make money off the stock market!
