Review: While there are some great ideas in this book, they seem to be too few and you have to read through too many generalizations and overstated guesses about the future of distance learning.
It also seems that the book is intended for the person or training organization that wants to dominate the market and make lots of money in their field of expertise. It is NOT effective survey or current technologies or teaching methodologies.
One section that I did find useful, were his tips on creating online interaction (Chapter 11) where he offered some useful tips for encouraging participation in an online course.
*The book was published and there has since been a 2nd version, so if you feel inclined to read it be sure to pick up the latest version.
