Summary: one delicious book
Review: I have made various recipies of Nigella's from the Cheese danish (bettter than bakery bought) to her lemon risotto and everything looked, tasted adn worked out perfectly for me. This book is no exception. The photographs are beautiful, true works of art, the recipies are exactly as those from her tv series.
Honestly, all the food she presents is impressive, yet not intimidating when it comes to actually making it. I love this book, and im sure anyone out there will be a fan of it as well.

Summary: Nigella Rocks!
Review: I just bought this book while in Canada (I don't believe its currently available in the US) and although its a hassle to translate the recipes to US measurements, the book itself is a pleasure. Her best of all I think. There are alot more pictures than in her other books and the recipes are right from her TV show so its nice to see her make it and then be able to recreate immediately. Excellent recipes include the 24 Hour Pork and Sweet and Sour soup.

Summary: A Must have in your cookbook collection!
Review: I love Nigella Lawson's books and show. Every recipe that I have tried so far has been a winner. The bread pudding is amazing and the cupcakes are so fast and easy you will never buy them from the bakery again. Definitely try the Asian Kedigree- it is a great way to keep salmon from being boring!

I highly recommend this book. Happy Eating!

Summary: Wonderful Cookery Book !
Review: I loved this book. It is filled with interesting recipes that you want to try. It's a cookbook to use and try substitute ingredients. Try the Bread & Butter Pudding. Delicious. The Bitter Orange Ice Cream is rich and wonderful!

Overall, it's a great feel-good type of book. Just like my new beverage of choice called s o y f e e. It's made from soybeans that you brew just like coffee. Caffeine-free, you'll find it at www. S oycoffee.com. This book is a wonderful addition to anyone's kitchen. I would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Heavy on Calories, Light on Content
Review: I obtained this book after being smitten with the Nigella Bites TV show, and am disappointing with book compared to on the on-air version. True, the book contains the recipes I've seen on TV. In fact, it reads like a printed version of the TV script, and nothing else. Rather than being filled with more in-depth information and additional recipes that didn't make in into the short time of an episode (as I would have hoped), the limited content of the book is padded in metallic-inked graphics, more like a "coffee table book" than a cookbook. Most of the recipes are special-occasion, junk-food-type items; this is not a good basic cookbook. Nigella's earlier cookbooks do appear from a quick look to be more substantial; perhaps one of them would have been a better choice.

Summary: Great book
Review: I really loved the Lemon Risotto. It turned out great. I like Nigella's style of writing as well, so informal. She doesn't make cooking seem like some competition. You're free to improvise on her recipes and she even tells you how you can make up your own concoctions for marinades. I never knew why chicken needed to have some acidic ingredient like lemon or vinegar in the marinade but now I do. The books reads as if she is talking to you, really cool.

Summary: Tsk, tsk, Nigella...
Review: I really, really love Nigella's books, her shows and her approach to food... So believe me when I say it pains me to say that this book is an enormous disappointment. It is safe to say that this was just meant to be a quick cash-in for Nigella and her publisher.
For $35 you should expect far more than what was offered up in this feeble effort. I rushed out to buy the book, didn't think twice about it, then got home and couldn't help feeling a little bit taken advantage of once I had time to take it in.

Does she really believe that recipes for Bloody Mary's, pancakes, mashed potatoes, pigs in a blanket, sugar cookies and a peanut butter and banana sandwich are worth $35? I know what you're thinking. "Maybe these are magic mashed potatoes!" No. The "recipe" (if you can call it that) consists of potatoes, milk, butter, salt, pepper and nutmeg. It doesn't even offer a fresh approach to mashed potatoes (for a book that does, see Marcus Samuelsson's Aquavit!)
I had about damn near had it when I saw her passing off asparagus with soft boiled egg as a recipe. That one basically goes like this: boil the egg, boil the asparagus, dip the asparagus in the egg. Give me a break.
Shoddy recipes on top of two blank pages at the end of each section for your "notes" and two pages per section for very large, bold print that doesn't even take up a half a page, had me losing my faith in the Domestic Goddess.
That said, there are a few recipes here that I liked. Granny Lawson's lunch dish, the lemon risotto and chocolate cloud cake were good. So I figure each one of those recipes was worth about $11.66.
This book is not worth the cost. My money would have been put to better use getting bikini wax. Save yourself the annoyance and opt for one of her other books (all of which are worth the price.)

Summary: Nigella does it again
Review: I recently purchased this book (I own Nigella's other three, including the recent British release "Forever Summer" - also very good) and I have been really pleased with it. I was originally dissuaded from buying this book from a reviewer on the UK site who said that this book was a combination of "Domestic Goddess" and "HOw to Eat"; it is not. Nigella's style is very chatty and it is like having a friend in the kitchen with you. She also encourages substituting ingredients (offering her own options) when you are unable to find something, such as Seville Oranges. She also encourages that the reader/cook use these recipes as a guideline, changing them to suit their own taste/ingredients on hand, and she includes a section at the end of each chapter where you can jot down your own notes. I have already tried two of the recipes, the Lemon Risotto and the Chicken Breast with Cannellini Beans and Kale (I substituted Beetroot Greens - I am sure Nigella would approve.) These met with great success from my culinarily spoiled husband, who said they tasted great, and from me, since both recipes were fantastically easy, yet looked like I tried so much harder than I did. Nigella's recipes range from slow-cooked meals for lazy weekends to very fast dinners, what ever suits the cook and the eater(s). Finally, thumbs up to the organizational sections of the book, and I positively cannot give less than five stars to anyone who readily admits to being an Amazon addict (like myself!) Check this book out - you will not be disappointed! :)

Summary: Awesome
Review: I'm really 14, so I'm accountable. I love Nigella's almost effortless way of cooking. I also love her anything goes attitude that doesn't put too much effort into just making things look good, it's needless. Pitures are really appealing to.
