Review: I bought this book and Byrn's chocolate cake mix book on the recommendation of a friend, and I haven't been disappointed! All of the cakes I've made have turned out beautifully. They are easy to follow with easily obtainable ingredients. My last cake from this book looked professionally done and got rave reviews from family and friends! If you don't have time to bake from scratch but love cakes, this is a great book and gift idea!

Review: I received this book as a gift and was very excited. This author has excellent ideas. The Tiramisu is delicious. I recently made the Cannoli Cake in this book for a shower. Everyone loved it! I can't wait to get her other book on Chocolate Cakes!

Review: The recipes in this book are sooooooooooo very good and easy to follow. I bought the book a while back and have made several cakes and bars from it. They all turned out so wonderful!!!! First of all if you buy this book, make sure to read the introduction of the book. This is very helpful, because then you know what all to have on hand to make the recipes in this book. So plan ahead a little before going all out. Also, yes, these are desserts that are very high in fat ect....or "not healthy." If you are on a diet why would you buy this book? You can splurge a little every once in a while, that's why. Why deprive yourself from such bliss and yummy cakes, cookies, bars, and desserts? Treat yourself to this book of recipes. It's worth the extra calories!!!

Review: Not what I thought it would be. Bought it on recommendation unseen and am not happy. Recipe always calls for at least one item I do not have at the ready. Frustrating. Pictures are black and white...blah. Nothing looks tempting. I want cakes that ooze temptation and originality.

Review: If I knew my wife would try to kill me with chocolate, I wouldn't have bought her this book for Valentines day. Since receiving this book I'm afraid to stand on the scales (they might break). Don't come anywhere near this book if you are on a diet.

Summary: Most used cookbook in my kitchen
Review: This is my all time favorite cookbook. I bought about 7 copies and gave as gifts. I have not had a bad cake and this is the first time I would consider myself a baker. I read the entire book first and loved all the helpful tips which ensured that I was successful. I am the first to volunteer to bring a dessert to any event and am embarrassed to know how easy it is!! I never buy desserts anymore, just whip up my own. The chocolate version of the cookbook is good, but this original book is much more versatile. Buy it and enjoy it.

Review: This is a great book, a great variety of different types of cakes, cookies and other baked goods, and excellent frosting recipies. To me, the frosting section is well worth the buy.

Summary: Great recipes, Easy to follow directions
Review: I am typically a "from scratch" cook and was a bit disapointed when someone gave this to me as a gift. What a surprise! Every recipe has been incredible. When attending a party I can open the cookbook to almost any page, make the cake, and have everyone asking for the recipe. (The only recipe I wasn't crazy about was the icebox cake, but I don't like coconut.) The recipes sometimes have many steps, but are very easy to follow and yield delicious results. I'm buying my mother a copy.

Review: If you do any baking at all, this is a MUST book. . it has saved my life as I run a B&B and could only boil water a few months ago. Her book enabled me to actually create wondeful food for my breakfasts! I LOVE this book. . .Many thanks to the author.
