Rating: Summary: this is the definitive book on this subject!!! Review: This is a book I've been waiting for!! My wife and I have always found that our best "dinner" parties are the ones were we serve a variety of finger foods rather than one big entree. This book will give us ideas for years to come!! I must say that I think the best part of the book is its lay-out. You first get to see what the foods look like and then if you want the receipe, the page number is printed next to the picture. I wish all cookbook authors would use this visual approach to their receipes. I felt the the receipes were easily within the reach of the average cook and the explanations and tips on preparation were wonderful. All in all this is a book I will not only treasure but I will use again and again!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I'm impressed. This is a beautiful, wonderfully organized cookbook! Love her or hate her, Martha knows her appetizers. She and her mignons have put together a truly fantastic cookbook.
Rating: Summary: Who actually makes this stuff? Review: I bought this book when it made its debut on QVC. Everything looked really great during the presentation, but the book is filled with strange, exotic things most people wouldn't know where to purchase, much less eat!
Rating: Summary: THE Bible of hors d'oeuvres! Review: If there were such a thing, this book is the bible of hors d'oeuvres. The end all of gastronomy! It will make you plan a cocktail party right away! One could do away with regular meals and just have some of these.
Rating: Summary: START THE MEAL OFF RIGHT, NO STALLING WITH MARTHA STEWART! Review: This is the first of Martha Stewart's books that I have purchased. Watching her television show finally convinced me. And this book is almost as good as having Martha Stewart in the kitchen with you. I love the "side tips" she offers whatever she is doing, and the quality of her foods and presentations are great, even when preparing for informal get-togethers. I am always looking for new "starter" ideas and this book does it. I was once told that if you offer great hors d'oeuvres and a great dessert, the main meal doesn't matter. This book gets you half way there
Rating: Summary: Martha Stewart.....what else can you say? Review: Martha, as usual, has given us her finest work in years. She handles tough subjects with aplomb and dignity
Rating: Summary: Beautiful photographs; delicious recipes Review: This is a beautiful cookbook; filled with some ordinary, but mostly out of the ordinary hors d'oeuvres that are sure to impress at your next party. The recipes are easy to follow and most are uncomplicated. Each recipe has a beautiful photograph. The book is also filled with helpful suggestions and cooking techniques! A must-have. One of Martha Stewart's best!
Rating: Summary: A real wowser Review: This book's organized into 2 sections, the first is photos, the second the recipes -- with a ribbon bookmark for each. The photos are fabulous, and the recipes aren't bad, either. Some ingredients may be hard to find outside major metropolitan areas, but the book includes a source reference at the end.
Rating: Summary: Let Martha make you a star... Review: This book turns any hostess into a remarkable one. Recipes are easy yet attractive. We like an hors d'ouevres buffet on holiday evenings and thanks to this book we now have scores more easy to make recipes to add to special events. Our family looooooves finger foods. Thanks Martha.
Rating: Summary: A must for epicureans. Review: This collection of recipes is wonderful for entertaining small and large groups, a casual family gathering or dazzle up a few for yourself. This is the top hors d'oeuvre book to own. Lavish photographs, an intensive directory with websites to obtain ingredients or utencils if need be, plus two bound in bookmarks. Excellent!
