Summary: Very accurate, very easy to follow
Review: I grew up in a persian household, watching my mom throw a pinch of this or a pinch of that and making these fabulous persian dishes - but could never replicate them. Every recipe I've tried in this book is so accurate and so easy to follow. The author really pays attention to detail and you will truly be amazed at what you can make. Buy it now - you will enjoy making all of these dishes.

Summary: A Beautiful Book
Review: I grew up on my parents' homemade/authentic Persian food and found myself missing it terribly when I moved out on my own. This book not only gives me all the best easy-to-follow recipes, but also information on Persian culture, folklore, and tradition. When I showed it to my family, they loved it so much that they bought their own copies I bought this book because I needed a crash course in Persian cooking! I use this book often even though I have most of the recipes memorized. The photography is absolutely beautiful and I enjoy thumbing through the pages of colorful recipes and learning some of the Persian traditions and ceremonies (very handy). Our favorite recipes are Nazuk.

This book is truly a gift to share with others. Just like my new beverage of choice that replaced my morning brew. Its called s oyfee and taste so wonderful with no caffeine or acids. Organic and made from soya! Bye bye acid stomach and hello healthy tummy! Google it under "acid free coffee".

Summary: An authentic and beautiful cookbook.
Review: I have bought several other books on Middle Eastern cooking, and this by far is the best. The author has written 4 books, all of which are wonderful. The recipies are precise, easy to follow, and taste like they should (like my mother's cooking back home.)

This book is wonderful way for anyone who wants to learn a new cuisine or to experience a new culture thru food.

Summary: An Excellent Reference in Persian Food BUT Lacks more photos
Review: I have gone through the book and I found it a very essential reference for Persian food lovers (like myself and my husband). But, although this book has some very nice photos about some of the cooks on it, it REALLY needs more since, you know, a picture worth a thousand words. Also, it would be better if each photo was put in front of its recipe.

Summary: best persian cook book
Review: I have lived in Iran, watched people cook, but only after using this book did the food turn out more authentic. It is not easy to get the right taste of Persian food. When an Iranian cooks it, it still tates different.

Summary: Excellent for non-Persians and Persians alike
Review: I loved this book. Although I had already had tried another author's work, I found this author's recipes excellent as well. I especially liked they way she also touched on the history and ceremonies, it made the food much more alive. It is an excellent basic book for anyone who plans on cooking for Persians or non-Persians.

Summary: Excellent reference on Persian cuisine
Review: I was first introduced to Iranian cooking in college while living with an Iranian roommate and fell in love with Persian cuisine. Every dish I have prepared out of New Food of Life has become a favorite in my repertoire of recipes. Many recipes are time-consuming, but well worth the effort, similar to the philosophy of French cooking. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves good food and loves cooking. This book is also filled with beautiful photographs, artwork and interesting information about Iranian culture and traditions (esp the last section of the book, which details traditional ceremonies and holidays), which also makes this a nice reference for people interested in Iran's rich culture and history. This is one of my favorite cookbooks. Highly recommended.

Summary: Excellently designed with a wonderful array of Persian food
Review: I was very impressed by the large number of recipes contained in this volume. It was also nice to read about the various holidays and their accompanying foods. I think the author did a great job offering such a variety, I found every Persian recipe I ever wanted all in this one book. The layout is very nice and the food is excellent!

Summary: EXCELLENT! Easy to Follow! YUMMY!
Review: I will keep this very basic, because I am not good at being a critic. I am not a great cook. I have had no home training in this area. I was born and raised in the USA and have Irish roots. I bought this book to learn how to cook for my future husband. The recipes are EASY to follow, simple to create, and they taste fantastic. Some of the ingridients are difficult to find in some remote areas but any basic city grocer will have what you need. I recommend this book for ANYONE that is tempted to delve into middle eastern cooking. This book is a one stop shop because it offers a complete array of dishes from appetizers, drinks, main dishes, non meat dishes, and desserts. It also has the most beautiful photography too! You feel like you are really using the recipes of a person you know and can trust! Interested in Middle Eastern cooking or Persian cooking? This is the only book you will ever need!
