Summary: COOK BOOK REVIEW
Review: I have one other E.L. cookbook and I enjoyed this one, too. However, I would have rated it higher if photographs of the dishes were included. Great history and insight to holidays, special occasions. Easy to understand recipes.

Summary: ALWAYS PARTY TIME IN LOUISIANA
Review: My Father was born and raised in Louisiana, Opelousas to be exact so I was raised on great cooking. I have all of Emerils cookbooks as well as some of Cheif Paul's. There is so many different kinds of food and meals in this one. Most of the ingrediants a Cajun usually keeps at his house. They are simple to make and so far live up to what I would consider a party food to be. If I could make just one suggestion, there have been a few ingrediants mentioned for some of the recipes that I have never heard of and would like some way of finding substitutions for these. Keep up the good work Emeril and goodness knows that we do not need to see pictures of the food, we just always know that they will be great. Sincerely, Connie Halphen Harber

Summary: Interesting ...
Review: This isn't what I'd thought it would be. It aint nothing but pictures of Emeril and other party pictures. There arent any new recipes in this book. Emeril's the man, he can do better than this.

Summary: Every Day is a Party - Emeril Lagasse
Review: This book is a must for those who like to entertain, like parties, and/or like good food. It doesn't matter what state or country you live in. It has many good receipes for any holiday or family gathering. It also give some history of New Orleans and the surrounding parishes. I found it very enjoyable reading as Emeril describes his travels through the various parts of New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not one of his better efforts
Review: I believe that Emeril has slipped just a little bit. This book is grand in concept, but somewhat lacking in substance. He may be so busy trying to keep his shows going, his personal appearances, all of his restaurants, etc that he has lost a little bit of his true creative edge. Most of the recipes in here are ambitious, but they tend to miss the mark. He has taken some of the fun of innovating and run wild with it, to the point that it is counterproductive. I would advise Emeril to take a break for a little while and get back to the kitchen to do some real cooking. He should get back in touch with the basics that are so vital to true Louisiana cooking. The 'creative' dishes that he has been displaying lately on his show and the recipes in this book are indicative of how he has gone just a little overboard.

Summary: WHERE ARE THE PICTURES OF THE FOOD?
Review: This book features many pictures of unidentified good times but no pictures of the food being featured. I have tried four receipes and of the four only one turned out as it was described. I would not recommend this one.

Summary: North Louisiana cooking book
Review: This book is a public relations effort instead of a Cajun cookbook.Lagasse is so busy patting himself on the back, he doesn't have time to tell you how to actually pull off these recipes. If you really want to know something about Cajun cooking, check out Prudhomme.

Summary: I've seen better
Review: I am a chef by trade. I operate my own restaurant and have published a lot of my own recipes. After watching Emeril on TV, I've decided to try looking at some of his books to see if I could find any inspiration. I've never enjoyed his shows too much, so I thought maybe the books would be better. This book was a great disappointment. I looked at his recipes, and there were a lot of glaring mistakes in proportions, time, etc. There is some potential for his ideas, but they are poorly put together. I think Emeril would have benefitted from working at a Denny's for awhile. Save your money and buy a better book than this.

Summary: Emeril is the man.
Review: With this cookbook, Emeril Lagasse once again proves that he is the MAN! You name the occasion and you'll find an entire meal planned for you in this cookbook as colorful as its chief author. Take Emeril's recipes and lessons to heart; make every day a party!

Summary: What a book!
Review: Break out the Maalox and dust off the plunger, we're going to cook with Emeril tonight! A wild collection of Emerilized recipes in the newest installment in his series of books. Emeril explores his own unique ways of preparing classic New Orleans fare. Follow his directions and prepare yourself for a night like you haven't had in a long time, and pray that you won't ever have another! Only Emeril could or would put a book like this out on the market. Only you would actually buy one.
